Re: ***Return To Glory: An Edmonton Oilers Dynasty(NHL '09)***
QUESTIONABLE MOVES BY PENS GM RAY SHERO LANDS MALKIN IN EDMONTON
The Nashville Predators waived highly-touted prospect goaltender Pekka Rinne, and Rinne was claimed by the Pittsburgh Penguins, putting the $2 million over the salary cap limit. As GM Niko Baron laughed at this, his cell phone vibrated, and it was a text message from Penguins GM Ray Shero....
" After just claiming Rinne, we're in cap trouble, and I have a trade offer for you. Patrick Marleau, and Jean-Francios Jaques in exchange for Evgeni Malkin.......I'm dead serious, Marleau is a good leader, and could help out our 2nd line, and Jaques is a tough SOB, that can make a future impact. Evegeni is a star, who will really improve your team, even at a steep price." At first, Baron didn't realize what he had just read, and when he did, he went crazy. Marleau was making $6.325 million, while Malkin was making $8.7 million. HOLY F@!K!!, though Baron to himself, as he texted back, TRADE ACCEPTED!!!! He ran out of his office jumping and screaming, WE GOT MALKIN!!! WE GOT MALKIN!!!!

Evegni Malkin brings size, skill, playmaking and scoring ability to the Oilers
And with that, Evgeni Malkin was an Edmonton Oiler, and drastically improved an already very good Oilers sqaud. Patrick Marleau and JF Jaques were Penguins.
