Re: ***Return To Glory: An Edmonton Oilers Dynasty(NHL '09)***
DEFENSEMAN SWAP: PREISSING TO PENGUINS; LETANG TO OILERS
Oilers also sign 9 high-potential free-agents to two-way deals

Defenseman Tom Preissing demanded a trade minutes after being sent to the Edmonton Oilers by the LA Kings. He was promptly traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins for young defenseman Kris Letang. Letang was ecstatic after being traded to the Oilers, and couldn't wait to arrive in Edmonton.
The Oilers also inked the following free-agent prospects to equal 3 year, 2-way $800,000 contracts.
- RW Anton Axelsson
- G Jonas Gustavsson
- RW Tyler Donati
- LW Tony Lagerstrom
- D Kalle Kaijomaa
- RW Timo Rinne
- C Tommi Jokinen
- D Niko Koskela
- D Johan Fransson
The Oilers also signed free-agent C/RW Nikita Alexeev to a 3 year, 2-way $825,000 contract

Oilers Also Acquire Offensive Defenseman Cody Franson From Preds

The Oilers and Predators also swapped prospect defenseman today, after a frenzy of signings and trades by Oilers GM Niko Baron. The Oilers sent defenseman Theo Peckham, a more defensive defenseman, to Nashville for Franson, who has potential to become a dominant offensive defenseman in the NHL, in the near future.
Nikita Alexeev will play on the Oilers 4th line against Anaheim, and will then likely be sent down to the Springfield Falcons of the AHL. All of the signed free-agent prospects, and Cody Franson were promptly sent down to the Falcons. Kris Letang will take a spot on the 3rd defensive pairing, while Drew Doughty has been moved up to the 1st defensive pair, to play with/learn from one of the best offensive defeseman in today's NHL, Brian Campbell.
