Just not good enough as Orioles lose another one-run game!!!!!
Baltimore, MD - The Orioles just can't seem to get over that hump when they fall behind. The "Birds" fought back from being down 4-1, just to fall short once again at the "Yard" tonight. The scoring began in the 6th when Nate McLouth homered for the 2nd straight day to give the "Bucs" a 2-0 lead. Melvin Mora hit his 10th home run of the season in the bottom of the 6th to pull the O's to within one. The Pirates scored twice more in the 7th to make the game 4-1 before the O's made it interesting when they got back-to-back RBI doubles from Luke Scott and Aubrey Huff to make it a 4-3 game, but the O's would strand Huff at 3rd to end the inning. In the bottom of the 9th, the O's got runners on 1st and 2nd against closer Matt Capps, but left them on the pond when Capps struck out Mora to end the game, giving the O's their 6th straight loss. Manager highheatkingsb doesn't have any answers right now for this young team and it's becoming a task to get his guys up for stepping on the field everyday. In an interview after the game, the skipper replied, "We're young at heart, we just have to play through this slump were going through. The future looks bright here in Baltimore and one day we will look back at these hard times and know we made the right decisions." The O's will look to snap their skid tomorrow night.
