 | Thursday, May 4th, 1905: Tannehill Tosses Shutout
Everything clicked on the hill today for Jesse Tannehill of the Boston Americans as he hurled his club to a 4-0 shutout win over the New York Highlanders, limiting them to 5 hits while recording 3 strikeouts and yielding no walks. He overpowered some batters with his fastball and buckled knees with his sharp breaking pitches.
"We had our shot at him a couple of different times," the Highlanders manager said, "but we weren't able to get to him."
In 5 starts this year Tannehill has fashioned a 4-1 record and a 1.23 ERA |
