I guess The Show wins by default for me even though I don't even like the game all that much. This was a terrible year for sports gaming as a whole.

MLB 2K8 took one step forward and two backwards
NCAA Football 09 took about five steps backwards
Madden 09 was terrible
NBA2K9 bores the hell outta me
NBA Live improved but isn't quite there yet
NCAA Basketball 09 is an improvement over March Madness but still has a long way to go
No College Hoops 2K9.
I don't play hockey, golf or racing games.

I hate to say this, but IMO there wasn't a single great sports game released this year.

I'd love to vote for the Show, but after 50 games the game got too easy. No walks and I could score 20 runs with ease.

Great game in the beginning though. I'm voting NHL 09
