There. We can now officially put the RFL to bed. I advanced the league to 2012 on Xbox live and left it up so that anyone who wanted to could convert it to an offline dynasty. (Which I will be doing, myself. Gotta get my boys a ring!)

It's been fun guys. I hope the Conference USA dynasty is just as much fun.

RFL Epilogue:

After costing us the 2012 Rose Bowl, Justin Sampson redeemed himself in 2013, as he led the Hoosiers to a 12-0 season with road wins against Notre Dame and OSU and a tough win over PSU. For a while, it was looking like we were going to be stuck at #3, but Oklahoma and Clemson both lost in the last couple weeks to move us to #1. We faced USF in the Orange Bowl Championship Game, and knocked their stud QB out for half the game. It was never close, and we ended up winning 42-7 or so.


Zach Longshore missed 6 games due to injury, so he's coming back for his senior year. Sampson and Razzone are coming back too. I've really grown attached to these guys, so I may have to keep playing and go for the repeat. After that, if I keep playing, I'll probably drop down to some lower-tier team and impose a player-speed house rule on myself.

I decided for 2013 to schedule only former human-controlled teams so that their rosters would be in better shape and there'd be more of a challenge. Late in the second quarter of my first game, against #10 Florida, I'd gained a 14-7 advantage on a pick 6, but on the final play of the half, their Mini-Tebow QB ran 70+ yards for the tying score, hurdling a couple of my guys in the process.

In the fourth quarter, I needed a late touchdown to tie the game and send it to OT. We held them to a field goal, and three plays later, senior RB Zach Longshore ran in the winning touchdown from the 1 to keep our hopes of a repeat alive.

Next up, we travel to play #24 Mizzou.

Week 3 saw #20 Missouri come to Bloomington. They started out pretty well, and had a 10-7 lead, but from there, it turned ugly. Zach Longshore put up 240 yards and 7 TDs on them on 24 carries, and it was never a game after the first quarter. We won something like 69-42 after having a 49-13 advantage at the half.

Next up: Notre Dame.
