3B A. Mejia (FOOL)
SP S. Bird (AAA)

Chico trades:
3B G. Castel (FOOL)

Castel is a nice player, but this trade gets us younger, cheaper, and deeper.

I think this is a deal that helps both teams.

After losing so much power the past two seasons, I needed to upgrade there, and I have younger players with high Contact ability to spare. So moving Mejia makes sense, although in the long run, I fear I may have traded away a future batting title winner for a brief surge in power.

Hi Alan,

I have DFA'd Mejia and Byrd. If you could place Castel on my major league roster and in the DH spot in my DH lineups so he will get some cuts this spring, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
