I thought we were gonna be able to release guys that made under 5 mil at any point? im assuming thats off the table now?

I also want to point out that if this goes into affect, trading is gonna be hurt and this will make it even worse IMO

I like the stadium idea, and the idea Eric proposed with giving new owners money to un do what old owners decided to do. Trying to wipe the slate clean is just fine with me

We will have gate receipts ($1 avg ticket price), merchandise sales, and playoff gate receipts from that year to use to release players.

Question though...what are mechandise settings? last year my team made $30mil in mech sales.

I've made the correction, I remembered that change, but forgot it when I drew up the proposal.

And I don't think trading will suffer anymore than it has. It's not really about trading, I think that 1) parity and 2) player movement.

I think the new rules will make people more likely to swap and get players from AAA from another team or whatever, to try to flesh out their rosters. And if we see major problems, they can be fixed through discussion, etc.

They'll be basically nil. That PDF I uploaded will give you an idea of what those numbers will look like. Merch is tied to ticket revenue and attendance. With stadiums equalized and ticket prices almost nil, it should bring that number down. Teams won't have more than a few extra million at the very end of the season to do anything like release a guy or something.

Not being able to release guys from their contract unless its their last year is I dont even know not cool??? I dont see the point for it unless we are trying to limit the big guys being cut.

Well if thats what we are trying to do, i dont see why we cant just put a cap on the number (like 5 mil) and say nobody making that number an up can be released....

Naw...my bad...DC understood and answered...English is my second language...unfortunatly I don't have a first.

No worries... I just wanted to make sure what was going on.

I agree that it would help get AAA and minor league guys traded, but that guys with longer type deals on the majors roster would be stale (un tradeable)

So it would be a trade off. But now that we can release guys that make under 5 mil at any point in time in their contract, that wont be an issue, and then trading might increase... i like it
