In praise of Ballio's

We've had threads bashing Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and many others, but I don't remember a thread like this, relating a positive buying experience.

This weekend I bought an entertainment center from the local Ballio's. The entire purchasing experience was so easy and pleasant, that I would absolutely buy from them again in the future.

- The various salesmen left me alone while I browsed
- They gave me pointers on setting it up
- I didn't have to ask for help loading the product into my vehicle

Everybody I dealt with was as courteous and friendly. It was a revelatory experience.

What is Ballio's?

I haven't had any particularly miserable shopping experiences lately, but you reminded me of something....I don't like it when I get sales clerks nonstop barraging me asking me if I need some help. However I also don't like it when I look around and can't find one when I DO have a question. Oh well, I think it's lose-lose on that one (can't have it both ways I guess).

The reason why people ask you a million times if you need help is because there is a good chance that the salesperson is told hourly by his supervisors that he needs to greet and help every customer. I'd much rather let people shop, but we get in trouble if we're just standing around when people are obviously browsing.

Also "assets protection" likes people to acknowledge customers so that they will be less likely to steal things.
