That perhaps is the most frightening video I have ever seen. You don't need the gore for that. Seeing how elephants are safe from predators, you kind of think you would be safe because there is no way the elephant can be brought down. But no, the tiger is going to leap the elephant and pick the guy off. Just wow!

I'm wondering two things.

When did the guy realise he was screwed? Right when the Tiger landed on the elephant?

Also

What the hell do you do to piss a tiger off at 30 yards?

It's hard to say how this would have turned out.

The elephant was backing away and obviously frightened, but the tiger appears to have leapt directly on to its husk. It also doesn't appear that the tiger got him with its claws, though that mouth filled with fangs looks awful close to him, and it's possible that even if it didnt reach him completely it could just use its claws to stay on top of the elephant rather than slide down.

Of course, the elephant probably freaked the fuck out immediately after the animation ends, and it might even buck up and knock the rider off. Hopefully the tiger wounded itself a little on the husks.

Still, chances are bad that the dude walked away from this one.

a) Ask him to buy a copy of Maximum Football.
b) Tell him to stop causing problems.
c) Inform him that he can no longer use "The Solution" as a nickname.
d) Inquire if he would like to beta test OOTPB 2007 after having beta tested 2006.
e) Quote another Chuck Norris fact.

The only survivor.

Actually, when I first viewed this, the image I had in my mind was that the Tiger was able to get some traction on the elephants head and was about to go after the guy, but the elephant grabbed his tail and/or body with his trunk and spun him around in the air for a few moments, then tossed him over the horizon. But maybe I've watched too many cartoons.

I'm not completely sure about that, it kind of looks like the big swinging left paw comes down just about in the guy's upper thigh/crotch area. Upper thigh/crotch area would be pretty high on my list of places I'd rather not have a tiger's paw.

Tigers track by sent but hunt/attack with their eyes, motion attracts them. The Elephant probably heard/noticed the tiger first and began to back off, triggering the Tiger's chase reflex, it pounced and lept at the thing moving the most, the dumbass with the stick.

I don't doubt the elephant tried to get rid of the cat during the altercation, but I also guarentee that man didn't get away without at least a permanent maiming, IF he got away at all.....

Lions might be the "king of the jungle" but Tigers are the fiercest single predator on the planet.

600 pounds of speedy agile extremely powerful pissed off pussycat.

I'll take two, thank you!

Oh and there are no tigers in Kenya that are not in controlled reservations. So the trip there is probably safe....except for the lions of course....

After seeing this video, I'm starting to rethink whether there may, in fact, be something more serious than a rhino about to charge your ass.

I would first state the fiercest predator on the planet has to be a shark, perhaps a tiger or great white. Just my two cents...

I don't know if YouTube has it, but there is a safari where they capture a hunter shooting a male lion, and the speed and ferocity as it goes after the hunter that shot it, is beyond words, the hunter amazingly ducks as the lion lunges (it was I would say quite a few yards off initially), and then goes to end scene (I would think by then other people got their boomsticks out to take care of the lion).

It's still impressive to me. I would think it's a Bengal Tiger, from India, right.

No, Pumpy's got this one. I just happened to glance over at my robe and wizard's hat hanging on the back of my office door and recalled the rhino saying.
