Endurance
Just wondered how this worked in the game. Take the DT position. If it were real life you would often substitute players out, for lesser players, just to keep your guys fresh. I have a 58/58 DT on the team with average endurance, solid all round. I have a guy 34/48 who is his equal pass rushing, but poor against the run. Would you consider using the weaker guy in passing situations to keep the other guy fresh?
I feel you would give this guy some passing downs in real life, but wonder if endurance in this game doesn't quite work to that extent? I have read the case study on endurance, I don't recall any mention of players getting worse (tired) the more snaps they play? |

I think the jury is still out on endurance. I play all my guys at about 6 regardless of their endurance, and only put guys in the pass rush if their pass rush rating is better than the starter.

The only position where I have noticed resting players makes much of a difference is running back.. No matter how strong or weak my guys endurance is, he seems to always do better if he is set at 2 in playing time. I only set my elite runners to 3 or sometimes 4, but never higher, because every time I have, it seems to cut into their ypc by at least half a yard. Maybe its just my game plan though..
It would be interesting to do a study on this, maybe turning off injuries and running the same game plan for the same season over and over for 10 or 20 seasons at 9 playing time, and then doing the same at 2 while recording the results for both.
