Battlestar Galactica Season 3 Preview

Wow... seems like a very interesting story arc on fighting the occupation with some (like Starbuck it seems) becoming part of an armed resistance, while others just try to carry on (while, I presume not working as hard as they could and finding secret ways of hurting the Cylons on the production line). Adama has to try to find the right moment to rescue the rest of humanity even though he'd like to rush right in, though that'd get him destroyed.

I'm definatly excited!! I'm liking this change to the story made at the end of Season 2 even more now!

Prior to seeing the link (can't check it from work), it's funny that you bring this up as Blade and I were discussing this earlier today over email.

My personal predictions running along the lines that one of the two Battlestars will be gone by midseason if not earlier, destroyed either intentionally or due to an attack by the Cylons, giving them all current "free" humans to man one ship.

Also went with some sort of escape planned by those that are captive, very likely led by Starbuck, especially if she needs to get to the ships to get medicine for her hubby, potentially appearing to be aided by one or two of the human looking cylons (leading them into an ambush of some sort).

Figuring on one or two main characters killed off due to those events or others during the season. Be interesting to see if the senior Adama is incapacitated or killed during this season for the younger's rise to become complete as the head of all remaining military.

And of course, none of this will actually happen and I'll reread this in December or January and wonder just what I was smoking.

Aw come on, that fits in perfectly with her trying to escape to get medicine, but failing

Then after that she gets help from one of the Cylons which is where it'll either be a big ambush to off the trouble makers, or she actually gets away and to where she's trying to go.

From what I've read, 2.5 is being released in September, but I haven't seen anything on a combined set as of yet.

Just checked, appears that September 19th is the targeted release date (not sure where all it will be released at that time however). So with Season 3 starting in October (and potentially later in Canada), there'll be time to get it and have a fresh rewatch in time for the start of the new season.

There is zero chance I am going for this 2.0 and 2.5 dvd release shit. The studio released the first season as a complete set and now they are breaking it up to double up on there earns. I guess people can always resort to other means to get a complete dvd of last season for free; if that is the way they are going to do it.

SciFi is releasing 3 minute webisodes (The Resistance) every Tuesday and Thursday starting today through Oct. 5 (Season 3 starts on the 6th).

I hate to say it, but the split season sets are becoming more and more the norm, especially for "genre" series since the fans will pretty much buy anything that comes out. (See LoTR releases).

So, the normal habit of these things are: Split seasons, combined season with a little extra for a LOT more, typically 5-6 months after the splits seasons are released. So, February or so.
