Over on another board, someone stumbled across a listing at a UK online store for a PC game called "Baseball Tycoon", possibly connected with GMX Media. Is that any of y'all, or something else, or vaporware?

Release date was listed as 02/06/06, which I'm guessing probably means June 2. That would lead me to believe that it's OOTP, but SI wouldn't go through GMX, right?

I wonder if it's along the same lines as Trailer park Tycoon, Lemonade Tycoon, Rollercoaster Tycoon, etc....

It's not something that is connected to OOTP.

I don't know since GMX are a publisher of video games.

The search http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...coon+gmx&meta= seems to return some data (although when you follow the links you'll struggle to find the game mentioned)

Definitely a board game - not heard of it before, but am likely to grab a copy now I have (I have a horrible addiction to sports games much to the annoyance of my wife ).

Looks like they make other games like Moon Tycoon and Deep Sea Tycoon. Nothing on that site about the game yet, however. Could be a fun game potentially, but I doubt it will be a seriously in depth baseball simulator like OOTP or PS.

dola-

Working with other games they actually have on the site, their address structure shows that if you were to enter www.gmxmedia.net/baseballtycoon that would be the site for the game. It comes up as the following:

"You don't have permission to access /baseballtycoon/ on this server."

Whereas if you just make something else up like trouttycoon, you get the 404 error.

Just a guess but it is probably a watered-down version of baseball mogul.......wait, is that even possible?

It could be a fun time waster, if it's like the other tycoon type games. Figure you have a payroll for your players, have to attact people to the games, build concessions, and stands, etc. Definately right about the watered down comment though.
