Player Development question

I've got a decent handle on how most types of players develop, however, I always have questions about OL guys, since they seem to take longer to develop.

I have a guy that is a 33/70. He has a high intelligence, but he is entering his third year. Will this guy reach his potential? I know a mentor would help for this year, but what about future years?

Is he playing? Has he been creeping up? If you've started him for 2 seasons straight and he's only gone up one or two points in current, he may not be going up much higher.

Its a potential trade. I got the low down from the trade partner, he had gone up 13 or so points, but then changed his position, which busted his rating so it only went up two points, if you follow. I think I'll switch the guy back to his old position since he started out at LT, he can replace my aging guy there.

I don't know if the game remembers a player's old position or not, but you may want to be aware that switches TO Left Tackle are one of those that tend to come with a pretty big ratings hit. Moreso than other switches within the offensive line.

Frankly, I find that those OL who eventually develop do it quite quickly. If they receive good playing time, mine get close to maxed out after 3 seasons. If they don't after the playing time, they probably won't.

The guy was drafted as an LT, and the team that drafted him moved him to RT since they already had a starting quality LT.

Odds are he'll take another ratings hit to move him back. It doesn't make realistic sense but that is what we'll probably happen.
