There was a feature in the print edition of today's AJC entitled, "FALLEN MIGHTY." The explanation at the top...

Georgetown, it appears, has finally made it back. Michigan, too. But some of college basketball's most successful programs have yet to snap out of a multi-year or even multi-decade funk. We're not talking about flash-in-the-pan stories like Loyola Marymount or one-year downturns like Oklahoma State's. We're talking prolonged success and at least three consecutive years of failure. WE're talking a big fall, from elite to defeat. Staff writer Mike Knobler takes a look at the top 10 tumblers:

What made me LOL at brunch this morning was this line from the Missouri explanation:

"Few programs have cheated more to accomplish less than the Tigers..."

Some of the rumblings around the Big 12 are that Rick Majerus is interested in coaching the Tigers. If that comes to pass, I think they will snap out of their funk pretty quickly.

That's just a bizarre list. No flash in the pans -- yet it lists the University of San Francisco? Subtract Bill Russell, and the second the biggest highlight in school history is the shutting down of the program. If you put San Fran on this list period, then Holy Cross needs to be No. 2 with CCNY No. 1.
