TV Shows

Hello all, I really don't watch much TV, but I am looking for a couple show suggestions. I want a show where each episode is its own story with a conclusion. I realize most shows have some continuation between episodes, but I can't stand shows that are the soap opera type.

The only show I currently tivo is House.

So, I am ready, hit me with some suggestions .

TV shows can be fun to watch for entertainment. They can provide comedy, drama, suspense, or various pieces of information.

Any of the Law and Order shows are good on their own if you like crime/legal/current event shows.

Yeah, I'd say CSI, Law & Order and some of the other crime procedurals (Medium N3mbers, etc.). I'm the exact opposite of you in my tv interests so I completely avoid these shows.

The Dead Zone is a good one. MOST of the episodes are basically their own story, but there is a continueing storyline (it's pretty basic. Nothing like the X-Files ). First two seasons are out on DVD (3rd season on its way).

House, CSI, and West Wing are the only three I watched this season and West Wing is on the verge of getting dropped. The original CSI is still probably the best show on tv and you can always catch up since it's shown multiple times a day on Spike TV and syndicated on the weekends.

Agreed on Dead Zone. When does the new season start, by the way?

Anyone know of a site with good summaries of West Wing? I don't really want to watch it all, but am kind of interested in reading about all of the backstory.

Wonder Showzen: It's a kids show on MTV, with the caveat being it's actually so unfit for children's viewing that it comes back from commercials with this warning:

WONDER-SHOWZEN.COM CONTAINS OFFENSIVE, DISPICIBLE CONTENT THAT IS TOO CONTROVERSIAL AND TOO AWESOME FOR ACTUAL CHILDREN. THE STARK, UGLY, PROFOUND TRUTHS WONDER SHOWZEN EXPOSES MAY BE SOUL CRUSHING TO THE WEAK OF SPIRIT. IF YOU ALLOW A CHILD TO WATCH THIS SHOW, YOU ARE A BAD PARENT OR GUARDIAN.

Tvtome has basic episode summaries of everything. I'm pretty sure that's a television without pity show so you can get good 12-15 page ones there (http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/)
