PS/2 Midnight Club 3 -- need a little help

Okay, really stupid question I suspect, but here goes ...

My son got Midnight Club 3 for PS2 today as part of his birthday haul. He's just 7, but loves cruise modes in some of the games & he'd been waiting for this one because it includes Atlanta as a driveable city.

Problem is, we can't seem to get it to change the city in Arcade Mode/ Cruise -- it'll only let us have San Diego. Everything else, # of players/type of car/etc, is changeable but not the city.

Is this a case of having to do something to unlock the city even for Arcade play? Or is my game screwy? Or am I doing something wrong? I've tried every button on the controller, I've tried googling variations of my questions, still find nothing.

Can somebody help a 7 y/o (and his confused dad) out?

I haven't played MC3 yet, but I have played the hell out of 1 & 2. In those two you had to unlock each of the cities to be able to cruise there. I'd suspect 3 to be the same. However, I'd also be willing to be that there are cheat codes that will get you past the locks if you google it. The cars will probably be the same way, you need to unlock them to cruise or play capture the flag with them.

All cities in arcade mode:

Enter roadtrip at the cheat menu.

Dunno if it works as I have the Xbox version and this is a code for the PS2. Good luck!
