Packers Vs Rams Tonight

Why in the hell are the Packers 7 point favorites? They have no RB's and IMO are being highly overvalued tonight. I can't for the life of me figure out why so many people think the Pack is gonna roll tonight.

St. Louis is dreadful on the road and has a dreadful defense.

There's a big bias against St. Louis in bad weather games because they play on turf and rely on speed. That, IMO, is more a reason for the big line than their opponent.

I think the big spread is more a factor of the sports books wanting to cover their asses in the likely event that there would be heavy wagering on GB at home in bad weather.

I think it should be more. Based on that, lay it in on the Rams.

Im actualy thinking that the worse the weather the better it is for the Rams, all things considered i'd rather have the Rams offense trying to operate in the conditions than the Packers with their running game in the shape it's in.

There's also the "Brett Favre always has a career night on MNF" factor.

Also, I'm pretty sure the Rams losing to Miami, New Orleans, and Buffalo has something to do with it.

Anybody need a kicker? Jeff Wilkins might be on the market based on Martz's mood over the last few weeks

Given how easily the Rams were moving the ball up and down the field, that was a remarkable ass-whuppin. Go back to your dome, losers!!

An impressive showing by the Packers. Favre and Davenport looked great, and the defense forced several turnovers.

A not-very-impressive showing by the Rams, highlighted by Martz' questionable decision to fake a FG in the 1st half (Wilkins failed to get the 1st, when a FG would've made it a one-TD game). Martz is stupid-crazy.

I think John Madden just proposed marriage to Brett Favre. The guy is impressive, a first-ballot Hall of Famer, sure, no question. But that was a rather sickening 60 minutes of splooging from Madden and friends. I'm surprised they didn't get Elton John up in the booth to compose yet another variation of Candle in the Wind for Favre.

I'm sticking to the NBA. Stupid coach, stupid mistakes, is there a chance Martz gets the heave ho following the season?

The playoff picture in the NFC ain't that pretty at all. A 5-6 team is currently the #6 seed. Oh my.

Stupid Martz, I lost in fantasy football by 2 pts and I had Wilkins. If Martz had kicked the FG instead of that dreadful fake, I would have won. Just one more reason to hate that bastard.

This is the really surprising statement.

There is growing sentiment in Green Bay that Davenport is better than Ahman Green, as good as he is. And Fisher is easily the best #3 RB in the league. They have running backs.

I am not sure which one is the Vikings #3 back, but I am sure he is better than Fisher. Not saying 1 or 2 are anywhere near Green and Davenport.

I agree with you Samdari - the Packers have great depth at RB. I rather took Suicane's comment to mean that all of their backs were hurt, not that they had no RB talent - because they clearly do.

Did you catch last Sunday night's game, Packers v Texans? I'm surprised Favre could even play last night, what with those 3 guys' lips still surgically attached to his ass.

(Off-topic rant) Why do the networks think that all we want the announcers to do is pick a player in the game and then fawn all over him the whole night? Would actual football analysis really be so complicated that casual fans would turn it off???

This team continues to piss me off to no end.

Again, Martz is an idiot and I hope he gets fired real soon. Friggin Packers are NOT that good.

I agree, but I do think they are good enough, particularly in the NFC.

Agreed here... but they won't last in the playoffs.
