Looks like I'm finally going to get into a soccer sim. Man, that game looks beautiful.. and we all know how good the gameplay will be.

as long as those damn "run away from the ball" bugs in the 2d engine are fixed- ...

also, more transfer stuff = good; as in, co ownerships, loans with a buy back option..

Is there any reason to think that this will not be in FM 2005? It has been part of CM games for years, way back since CM2 I think.

actually, it was not in 4- you couldnt just take control of a National team, because the team selection was a dropdown box. at least that's how I recall it..

Nah, you still could..just had to pick the nationality of a player from the squad selection screen when picking a team. If that made any sense.

The first thing I did with 4 was run the England squad.

I think my first game with FM will be managing the US. With the revamped MLS, and greatly improved international teams, I think it will be fun.

National team managing is just so intriguing to me - balancing playing your old stars, and finding new talent, and when to use each.

Is there an "experience factor" in CM/FM?

Is there going to be anything to liven up the international game a little more? Like is the media interaction going to move out to include it now?

I just see that you'll get news on players performances, not much else on the international stuff.

I love coaching the national teams, but it always seemed to dry compared to the regular game, hope they spice it up a bit this release.

Each player has attributes which can be attributed to experience such as "influence" and others. Check out the screen shot title profile page.

One thing I have always wanted to see is a user-controlled media emphasis screen. In Cm03/04, you basically get your league news, your personal team news, your shortlist news and major events news (talking rare stuff here, major competition finals and the like).

I would like it if I could customize that I would like to receive all "public" news from a selectable group of leagues, for instance, or from all leagues in a nation (or at least down to Second Division, for instance, in England). Or to be able to select transfer news of players of a certain level reputation, or of particular value. The international news is another thing like this, although it looks like that is being addressed.

Frothing at the mouth for this game already.

We've improved the media side of things for International Management quite a bit for FM ... we've also made it a fair bit harder to 'cheat' if you're a club and national manager by giving players caps etc. (the media and FA now will notice and get fairly stroppy about such things).

Hey Mark, when does this come out in the states? Do you guys even care if I buy it from overseas retailers?

Oh, and same question with EHM.

FM2005 should be available at retail in america (one of the reasons we've secured the MLS licence) - no details on release dates yet, don't feel left out we haven't given a detailed European release date yet
