Printer Suggestions
As if I haven't had a bad enough week, tonight while printing financial statements my printer decided to take a crapper. I've been using this Lexmark X73 for a couple of years, and I've really liked it. Tonight it just blew up, now I need to find a multi-functional printer to replace it.
What I liked about the Lexmark X73: It did well with every day printing, and scanning one page. What I did't like about the Lexmark X73: It wasn't very good with multiple page scanning. It was also bulky and took up too much space. I'm looking for a printer that can handle my every day printing, scanning (multiple pages in the same scanned document) and copying. I would also like it to be smaller than the bohemuth that's on my desk (ok well in the garbage) now. But size is not a deal killer. It doesn't need to be a photo printer ether - I have a separate heavy duty photo printer. Do any of you fine gentlemen (and one or two lovely ladies) have any recommendations? |

I don't think it took a crapper. It might have crapped out or gone in the crapper but I don't think it took a crapper.

One of the few people who have liked Lexmark.
![]() Check HP.com, I'm biased towards HP printers, but we get very few calls for All-in-one printers. Todd edit: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en...478-79479.html Last edited by MizzouRah : 08-09-2004 at 01:22 AM. |

I'm also happy with my HP all-in-one printer. I forget the model but it cost me about 200 dollars 2 years ago. It's done well for me for 2 years with no problems.

We bought an HP 2410 all-in-one a couple of months ago. Print quality-wise, it's much better than the Brother we used to have. Only problem with it is that it doesn't have a feeder for scanning docs, which sucks.

I bought this one myself, and it has served us well. Funny that you think not having a feeder for scanning docs sucks - I bought this one because it had a flat panel for scanning - I hate feeders.

Here's the one I use at work: Brother MFC-5200C
The only things I don't like about it is that it's a little on the large size (19.4x18.3x14.9) and that the sheet feeder is in the back (no trays). For day-to-day stuff it works great, the document feeder works without hangups (unlike the copier we have), plus ink only cost ~$10 per cartidge.
