Ping: GE, Swaggs/Bsak, Marmel/Shorty, VPI97, SirFozzie, Anyone Else Who Cares...
Hey guys!
Here I am at an Internet cafe. Never been in one of those. Feels weird, but in a good way. All I need is a cappuccino and a flannel sweater and I would fit in the Seattle crowd just fine. Problems at the ole Chief Rum house. The power supply on my computer went bye-bye. It's a relatively small problem, but I have been thinking of upgrading my computer for a couple months. About as good a time as any, I suppose. Anyway, I will probably be offline for a few days. I'm hoping to be up and running by Thursday or Friday, but it's a realistic possibility this could take me into next week, if there are any problems. So this is just a notice to you guys, all of whom run (or will be running) leagues I am in as to my whereabouts. I will be leaving similar messages on all the message boards, but I thought I would post at a central point like this, in case you missed it somehow and so anyone who cares at FOFC (not likely to be many ), they will know where I am, too.GE: I'm still interested. Keep my spot open. Good luck filling the league (if you haven't already). Swaggs/Bsak: You have probably run spring training by now. Please make sure my 25 man roster has the following on it: C Phelps, C Mathis, 1B Pena, 2B Mercer, 2B Lucia, SS Johnson, 3B Lindsey, 3B Ramirez, 3B Mizer, LF Kearns, LF McDowell, RF Torres, RF Stokes, RF Rivera, SP Arnold, SP Pastrana, SP Bootcheck, SP Miller, SP Ainsworth, MR Bonser, MR Chao, MR Vargas, MR Santana, MR Glover, there's another reliever here, but I can't remember who. I know I have Shin and Van B as well, but I think I had them in the minors. If there is another guy there I am clearly forgetting, please use him for the 25th spot. If not, put in Van B. No one but the five listed as SPs above should be on SP. On pitching staff, you can just hit recommend. If any reliever doesn't get a spot from recommend, throw him in an opening in the settings (if there are any openings). My rotation should be a stricty five. On depth charts, my starters are Phelps, Pena, Mercer, Johnson, Lindsey, Kearns, Torres, Rivera and Ramirez (DH). They are the same for both righties and lefties, and you only need to set DH lineups. The backups are Mathis, Ramirez, Mizer, Lucia, Mizer, McDowell, Stokes, Stokes, Mizer (DH backup). Set all to 10%, except Mathis (20%), Mizer in his DH backup role (20%). Put Mizer as defensive replacement at 2B and 3B. For lineups, just hit recommend once the depth chart is set. In the minors, remove Calahan and Tope from the DL and place them in AA and A, respectively. Move recent #1 pick Charles Rogers to AA. Move all brown star players still in the minors up to AAA. Then hit recommend on all the minor league pitching staff and lineups. Sorry for all the micromanagement. This computer problem couldn't have happened at a worse time for my online OOTP5 leagues. Marmel/Shorty: If the timing in the RWBL is bad, it has to be ultra bad in the JBL, with Opening Day tonight (and probably already run). I will have to accept whatever happened tonight, but here are my instructions (please) for my roster on Thursday. My 25-man roster is C Takakazu, C Drew, 1B Bunrukakken, 1B Keishi, 2B Toru, 2B Shoko, SS Shunsen, LF Meikle, LF Mashashi, CF Goro, RF Sumitomo, RF Tsugiharu (the guy with 6 Contact), SP Kikugoro, SP Segars, SP Yoshiaga, SP Kajuhiro (?), SP Totoya, CL Shunko, MR Shirai, MR Rivera (SP right now), MR Kosami, MR Tomomi, MR Yoshiaki, ugh, I can't remember who else. There are two spots left. If there is an obvious reliever or two I am forgeting toss them in there. I don't think I had another position player I wanted int he bigs, but I could be wrong. Use your judgement on the remaining guys. Anyone not on the above list and that you don't deem worthy of keeping, please saend them to AAA (I didn't run into anyone refusing that when I did it on my computer, so you shouldn't have a problem). You only need to set DH lineups/depth charts, since I am in the PL. Here are my starters for both RHP/DH and LHP/DH: Takakzu/Drew (whichever one is better defensively, your call), Bunrukakken, Toru, Shunsen, Keishi (starting at 3B to learn it), LF Mashashi, CF Goro, RF Sumitomo, SH Takazu/Drew (whichever one isn't starting at C). The backups are a little complicated. Sorry. No defensive at least. The backup C (whoever doesn't start among Takakazu and Drew--15%), 1B Keishi (15%), 2B Shoko (20%), SS Toru (10%), 3B Shoko (30%), LF Meikle (10%), CF Meikle (10%), Tsugiharu (10%), DH (Shoko--25%). Once the depth charts are set, just hit recommend for the lineups. Please make sure that only Kikugoro, Segars, Yoshiaga, Kajuhiro and Totoya have SP designations. That means moving Rivera and maybe another pitcher to MR. Shunko should be the only CL. Once you have that set, just hit recommend. If after recommend, holes remain and relievers don't have a spot, just throw them int here where appropriate. My rotation should be a strict five. In the minors, remove Kiyomori from the DL and put him in Single A. I think I have another DL player. If it's Kuemon, put him in Single A, too. If not, just see where the player last played and put him there. Please drop Hikosaburo from AAA to AA. Move all brown star players to AAA regardless of talent/rating levels. Make sure Tanosuke is at AA (I think he already is). Just hit recommend after that for all minor league levels, pitching and hitting. As with the RWBL, I apologize for all the micro-management. Just bad timing on this computer breakdown (as usual). VPI97: I hope the league doesn't accelerate the playoffs, because I have contract signings I need to do in IHOF. I'm going to cross my fingers you guys won't and will stick with the IHOF Bowl on April 26. Obviously, since I am not in the playoffs, I don't have anything else to do right now. Lucky break there. Sir Fozzie: My recruiting is done and my lineups never change, so there shouldn't be any problems in the FOFC FBCB (SBL). If there is a major injury to a starter, please make any appropriate changes you feel is necessary, using my current settings and depth chart as a guideline for what I want my team to be doing. Anyone Else: See you guys in a few days, I guess. Obviously any dynasties I am in are on hold right now. Sorry about that. Chief Rum

VPI has confirmed the IHOF bowl will be April 26th. Figured I'd post this while you're probably still online.

Thanks for caring, sachmo. And, oops, too, since I realize there is a chance this could impact you as well. My hotmail account is at a low point, so there should be no problems sending stuff there (within reason, zip it of course). I got your snail mail, BTW. Thanks. I should be back soon enough for this not to affect our thing at all. And I am not changing my hard drive in the upgrade, so the programs already installed should wok. Hopefully, the Stars can come back and upset the Forces of Darkness, and sorry for forgetting you. ![]() CR

I care, although I secretly suspect this is an elaborate ruse to avoid my whining about why Juan Gonzalez is not yet in the RWBL Hall of Fame.

Since no one else in RWBL said this, I will steer Briand and Swaggs this way if I see them online... Just in case.
Don't have too much fun up there!

Sorry, AE, I missed your message the first time around. Just went to do some errands and then stopped by here at the Intertnet cafe on my way home. Chances are you guys won't be seeing me after this until I am up and running.
Thanks, ardent for the well wishes. ![]() And to Neuq and anyone I missed in my ping, sorry! The subject line can only be so long. ![]() CR
