Anything by Ben and Jerry's.

I used to love this Apple Crunch flavor they had but I think they discontinued it. It was like eating an apple pie in ice cream with caramel. I guess I go for Chunky Monkey nowadays.

Ack! I forgot about black walnut... isn't that one seasonal or something?

They also have a good Twix cookie bar one that's good, not to mention the girl scout cookie ones.

What about Blizzards? ...or frozen custard from Ted Drews? ...or maybe a Turtle sunday from Fritz's.

Ahhh... this low carb stuff isn't too bad either.

The only place in the country that I have been able to find real Black Walnut ice cream is about everywhere in Upstate New York and New England. That's probably why I regularly travel back there, as well as being my home area.

Chocolate Peanut Butter from Haggan Daas. All you need is a pint and a spoon. Dangerous stuff...leave it to the Dutch to try to make me even more rotund.

Peppermint stick with hot fudge is otherworldly.

Yup, it is discontinued. The newest "limited batch" flavor they have is Chocolate Chocolate Cookie. It is very good.

Right now my faves are...
1) Edy's Light 50/50 bar (seasonal )
2) Breyer's Ice Cream Parlor Creamcicle
3) Wegmans Vanilla Orange
4) Haagen Daaz Vanilla Fudge
5) Wegmans Cookie Dough
6) Ben and Jerry's Phish Food

There was a series(from Edy's?) featuring girl scout cookies that I had sometime last year. The flavor with the carmel delites was just incredible.

Best. Ice cream. Ever.

I don't know if it's local to here (which would shock the hell out of me) but I think it is a premium brand of Dreyers. I just had it for the first time 2 weeks ago and it propelled itself to the top of my list it was that good. I am buying more this weekend, so I can let you know what brand. (Great thing about my diet, 1 day off to eat like crap!)

Dude that is FREAKY. Cause I've only been there once in my life, and thats the exact thing I ordered. It was good stuff, but i ordered like the biggest size, and that Mexican vanilla was a lot richer than i expected.

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned Blue Bell. That's probably my favorite brand. Caramel Sundae Crunch is my favorite of their flavors, but it is just a seasonal flavor. There was a ice cream store in Boston that has great ice cream, but I can't remember the name of it. I believe it was on or right off of Beacon Street, but I could be mistaken. I have only been to Boston once, and it was a few years ago, so I'm a little fuzzy on the details.

I agree. The only flavor I need is Breyers' Natural Vanilla.

Throw on some hot fudge/chocolate, a hot chocolate chip cookie, and whipped cream, and you've got the greatest heart-smart dessert this side of the Pecos!
