Play in the Year 2000!

We are the Alternate Universe Football League (AUFL). The AUFL imagines a world in which the NFL expanded in 1983, adding four USFL clubs to get to 32. The league just started its 18th season -- 2000 -- and is in Staff Hiring. The league sims 3 games a week (MWF) during the regular season.

TO CLAIM A TEAM:

Register at the web site (above). You will have to answer a simple question to prove you're not a bot. Once you're approved, PM the commissioner (commish) and claim your team. Any questions or problems, PM me here or at the AUFL web site.

Available Teams

Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are taken.

Detroit Lions. The Lions are taken.

New York Giants

New York Jets

Tamp Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is taken.

Green Bay Packers. The Packers owner switched to take the Lions, so now the Packers are available.

The AUFL has a mix of veteran owners and new players, so all are welcome. Dawgfan19 (49ers) and japomfret (Seahawks) just faced off in the 1999 Super Bowl. J David Baker (Broncos) is in the league, and the AUFL uses his database. The world-renowned Firefly (Showboats) is a founding member, and draft guru wesley3044 (aka Bighouserulez) is the Lions owner.

The Dolphins' top pick in 2000 is 1.16. They have 7 picks. Their 1999 record was 7-9.

The Lions are taken, but the Green Bay Packers are now available. I'll post their roster as soon as I get a chance.

The Packers have 7 picks in 2000, the first one is 3.09. The Packers were 6-10 in 1999.
