The vNFL House, which started as a historical feeder league for the vNFL but has developed a cult following of its own, has openings and is accepting applications. You can visit the House by going to the House Website and you can apply for membership by emailing beargrowlz@bellsouth.net or PM me here at FOFC.

The House runs 3 sims a week in the regular season, more frequently in the off-season. The league is in the year 2014, our 26th season. Teams are fictional but players are not. Current NFL players are in the draft pool as well as veteran players from the NFL time machine. Heck, Bear might even name a player for you if you ask nice enough!

Before last week, I had never watched Kitchen Nightmares. But after seeing all the internet hubub over the people on Amy's Baking Company, I watched that episode.

I'm so confused. Even if FOX was doing some creative editing to make the owners seem over-the-moon insane, it seems safe to assume that the video of them screaming at and threatening customers wasn't just creative editing; I mean, these people did that, no matter what the customers actually did to provoke it. These people knew there were cameras there, why on earth would they do anything but be on their absolute best behavior when cameras are on?

Then there's been other news about them: http://www.azcentral.com/thingstodo/...nclick_check=1

Then I went to their Twitter page to see if they might have learned and I'm just floored by what I see. Yes, it's possible they got hacked...but somehow, it seems unlikely. Half of the tweets seem "normal" like, "Scottsdale vegans: come try our delicious veggie platter with our world famous, homemade pesto hummus! Mmm! http://via.me/-c5idgag" and then there are some that seem above and beyond crazy, such as: "OMG. MY DOCTOR JUST CALLED US. SHE THINKS I'M PREGNANT W A HUMAN BABY. MAYBE THAT'S WHY I'VE BEEN SO EMOTIONAL LATELY. SAMY & I ARE EXCITED!" (Warning, if you do go to their Twitter page, there is all kinds of NSFW language...and if you care about grammar, you might also want to avert your eyes...)

So...what gives? Is this all for real? Is this more or less so than most reality shows (I don't watch too many)?

One of my wife's colleagues (Korean in her late 20s) will be attending a convention in St. Louis at the America's Center. She has no car and may need to come or go at late hours (after 8 PM, at least).

Can you recommend some hotels in the area for safe/convenient travel around that area or within reasonable taxi distance from the America's Center? My wife and she are asking for my help. Unfortunately, I know nothing about St. Louis and don't personally know anyone from there.

The dates will be May 26 to June 1 (last minute, I know, but that's what happens for business trips sometimes). She found out yesterday that she has to go.

I've played TCY, off and on, for a long time, but I've never tried writing up a story for the forum here. Perhaps it's because I'm a long-time lurker, who's been a little bit intimidated by the work of the "regulars" here who are, to put it simply, really, really good at this stuff.

Well, here goes. I like to write, so why not?

I'll be taking the head coaching position at the my alma mater, the University of Virginia.

The Cavaliers will be a fun challenge for several reasons. They're going to start off as a fairly decent team, since the game begins in 2004 and I'm not using Random Team Reputations. The Wahoos were pretty good in the early '00s; they went 9-5, 8-5, and 8-4 between '02 and '04. They will also have an outstanding academic profile, because I'm not using Random Academic Reputations, either.

I'll be trying to make the Cavaliers into a true football power without sacrificing the program's academic standards. I think it will be a lot of fun, and I hope some of you will enjoy reading along.
