...travelling in USA for an international friendly. :D

The Pittbulls are on their way to the Bee Hive to play Ausonny's Bees, in the second match of their home and home series.

The first match, played in Pintendre, ended in a tie, 3-3. Tomorrows match won't end in a tie, since cup rules will be in effect.

Good luck Bees!

Hah, his team performs much better than mine :) I've lost 5-0 and 5-1 to you, haven't I? :(

well not really his team, but his "B" team might have a bit more mileage than yours ;) It was 4-1 in the second and you scored the first goal. However, my midfield trainees won the possession battle and you didn't touch the ball enough to do anythign afterward ;)

I gotta say I like my "B" team just fine. They usually give me ratings in the high 30s, low 40s. Compared to my "A" team's 43-46 norm, I'd say I got a pretty balanced team... Looks not too bad for the upcoming FOFC Cup my friends :)

This makes me realize one thing though. It's not my "B" team that will be on the field next season when I promote to div IV, so this means I will have some work to do in order to elevate the play of my "A" team...

My team is over in Sweeden for something that I hope will be a profitable venture.

Thanks for the home and home, it's a shame the weather wasn't better, could've helped pay for the trip.

I guess you're trying out a new formation in your friendlies? The inexperience seemed to be the difference.

For the record:

Bees - Pintendre Pittbulls 4 - 1

Date: 5/1/2003 at 01:00
Arena: Bee Hive
Crowd:

The crowd of 950 turning up at Bee Hive today were greeted by some nasty showers of rain. Bees had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Muller - Siegel, Rodrigues, Sherwood - Williams, Horton, Seaman, Clifton, Moyer - Ladd, Lutz.

Pintendre had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Mueller - Saint-Laurent, Best, Willis - Brouillard, Lumpkin, Jurcã, Macahan, MacAdie - Kolokotronis, Russell.

In the 2nd minute cheers broke out as Rich Ladd found his way through the guests central defense line, clipping the 1 - 0 goal in for Bees. In the 16:th minute Beesīs Joshua Lutz tried to nail the coffin shut, but the shot rebounded off the bar to fall behind the net. Ron Muller became the hero of the day with the home crowd as he saved a penalty in the 31st minute. Michel Brouillard of Pintendre received a yellow card in the 38:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Pintendre seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. In the 40:th minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Paul Moyer dashed through, knocking home 2 - 0 for Bees. In the 41st minute Beesīs Robert Rodrigues tried to nail the coffin shut, but the shot rebounded off the bar to fall behind the net. Halftime score was 2 - 0. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Bees, with an impressive 56 percent possession of the ball.

Pintendre -coach had an extra briefing during the break, and after that his players looked a lot more organized. Pintendre fought on and, in the 63rd minute Panos Kolokotronis was able to reply with 2 - 1 after some excellent moves on the right side finished off by an incredibly clever chip. Beess Joshua Lutz got himself booked after a foul. Pintendre got a chance to level the score as Mel Russell suddenly found himself free with the goaltender but the finishing shot hit the bar. Joel Williams was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the enemy box - Rich Ladd managed to kick one of them into 3 - 1 in the 72nd minute. Joshua Lutz slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. In the 77:th minute Bees put themselves up 4 - 1. The visitors defenders lost the ball to Desmond Horton coming up from the left, who proceeded to cooly round the goaltender and knock the ball home. Sammy Willis of Pintendre received a yellow card in the 82nd minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Pintendre seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Pintendre, with an impressive 55 percent possession of the ball.

Beesīs best player was Rich Ladd. Nelson Clifton on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Pintendre player was Benjamin Mueller. Mel Russell on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 1.

Hey Ausonny, was great playing you in that series. Yeah, I'm trying to get some mor experience in a second formation, the 3-5-2. I started that last week only. I was excellent in 4-5-1 and wanted to also have the 3-5-2, to mainly help me put more goals in during league games.

What might have saved me last time was that I had a passable keeper, whom I've decided to let go for the time being. I don't need a goalie with a huge salary in my all-bot league, so why pay one...

About the attendance, yeah it was sad, but the home-and-home wasn't all bad after all. First game a tiny 1680, this one some 2600. This amounts to 4280, minus the cost of travel of 6000, it cost both of our teams about 860 per game... I say not bad and worth doing it again in the future...

Dola!

Since lytic will still be in the cup next week, and it looks like we won't start the FOFC cup until the week after, I'll be in need of a friendly for next week.

Anybody up for a home-and-home series with my team. Remember, my team is based in Canada, so it's an international game when you travel to my place, but you won't pay a penny when I go travel to your place. That's why I like doing it in home-and-home series. I also understand that the FOFC Cup will start the week after, we'll simply do the second part of the series when both teams will be out of the FOFC cup...

PM me if you are interested...

Sorry to throw the entire FOFC cup outta wack!

hey lytic, it's not outta wack so much. Actually, starting our cup on the 14th is probably for the better. I think it's DataKing that pointed out that if we start the cup on the 14th, we would end up playing the final game during the first week of offseason, when most team would be able to field their "A" team. That could make for a very good final...
