I'll drop someone to get New York under the cap right now. File is up.

Let's try this "new schedule" thing right now for this upcoming season. I'll shrink the cycle to 7 days like this:

1st Half runs on Wednesday.
Draft is run on Thursdays.
2nd Half is run on Friday.
Playoffs run on Monday.

So that cuts out the weekend. Then in the opposite week, we'll do the free agency period.

FA1 on Wednesday
FA2 on Thursday
FA3 on Friday
FA4/Spring Training on Monday

This way, we're only playing four days a week and there's a season every/other/week like originally intended. But if we get into the routine of doing it like this, it should make it easier to remember what is going on when. What do you all think of this idea?

Maybe for this season, on a trial basis, we can do away with the split season format and award one playoff spot to the champion of Spring Training and then another for the regular season winner ;)

I'm fine with whatever schedule you setup. As long as the schedule works for the commish and I have some advanced notice, I'm set.

Nice to see my team come through in the first half. Do have to say it doesn't seem right to win the division simply because we played 1 extra game and won. Not complaining, ill take the playoff spot, but that could be something to look into with the split season format.

Young Drachma
12-15-2011, 11:23 AM
I can look into getting a custom-schedule made for a split season league or we can spend a trial period season or two using the full-season model and see which we prefer more.

Here are the insane standings on September 14th with 3 days left in the regular season:

NL

Milwaukee 45-28
Los Angeles 44-30

AL

Frisco 42-31
Toronto 41-31
New York 41-32
San Diego 41-32

Memphis 38-36

Young Drachma

NL
---
MIL (Sep. 14-17) vs. Los Angeles

So these two will duke it out for the 2nd half title.

AL
---
NYA (Sept, 14-17) vs. Toronto
FRI ("") vs. Memphis
SDO ("") vs. Pennsylvania

In the AL, Memphis is mathematically eliminated. Everyone else is eligible. San Diego winning the 2nd half title would mean whoever was in 2nd place overall would claim the LCS spot (Frisco) and otherwise, it's open season. What a race to the finish!

I moved the Rough Riders to Denver for the playoffs. Being in a major city might make them more attractive to a future owner and balances the geography a bit too. The game will act as if they'd been in Denver all year and even when they were in Frisco, I put them in Frisco, CO rather than Frisco, TX.

Anyway, playoffs are on Monday. But will be run late on Monday because I'm going to be flying that day and won't be on the ground until late Monday evening (eastern time.)

If you all have your exports in on Sunday night, I can run it then. Otherwise, we'll do it late on Monday.

File is up.

Congrats to the other playoff teams.

Where are we at?

Where we left off. :) I'll be back home next week late in the week, so I was a bit leery to start a new season before I had hands on access to my Computer. So let's resume with our regular shenanigans after the new year. We'll use the same schedule I posted earlier.

i'll post an update before we resume, so you all can get your exports in, etc.
