I'm considering major changes to my stadium. However, I don't want to screw up the league and the main style of play. So, I'm giving you guys a poll about it. Please feel free to vote and leave a note saying why you think its a bad idea/good idea/don't care I can do whatever I want with my stadium.

Should I post the potential renovations? I've used DC's lovely excel chart to do the math for me. To get an idea, you can simply plug in an altitude of 5200 ft for any stadium to see how much it affects it.

I've wanted this to happen for years. I totally support it. Why have a team in Colorado if the altitude doesn't matter? OOTP doesn't do it automatically or else, it'd have been there from the start and the only reason I never changed it, was because it was Chief's team and that would have a big effect on things and so, I just left it alone.

Can we get a linky to this chart?

Hey I just noticed the rule update. Does that mean I have to wait one more season before suggesting this renovation?

You are grandfathered in. Make your changes, homey.

I'll let this stay up a few more hours. I really want owners opinions, especially the "oldtimers" from the league.

I don't have any problems with an owner wanting to make changes to a park if it is done realistically with some story line to it. I want some back story to it, and the reason for the stadium move. I don't want the same team having their stadium change year after year. I think Dc's new rule covers most of that, and I don't think anyone here as been changing their stadiums willy nilly.. So I would say go for it. Make it what you want it to be.

Should we have limits on the extent of stadium changes a team can make? Should 400ft down the foul line be prohibited, or a 2.00 HR modifier for example?
I think we should keep it realistic, but allow enough flexibilty to build to suit

I think stadium changes will be need to be done in accordance with the stadium spreadsheet that I use. That way, its standardized and no one can, as you say, start creating absurd stadium changes that don't make sense.
This isn't directed at Tasan, as I know he's already using the spreadsheet, but...just addressing ekcut's question.
So in other words, teams can either 1) use the spreadsheet and come up with a dimension or 2) give me the dimensions of their new park and then I'll calculate the factors using the sheet and then input them in-game.

I think no matter what rules you put in, someone somehow can manipulate it. Probably just a generic disclaimer that the BoD has the right to refuse a proposed stadium is probably enough to catch cases of extremities without having to list every single one of them.
Speaking of which, I think it is time for a new BoD vote, as the three years should be up. Time to get some new blood in there.

Violator Arena is FOOL's version of Fenway, using exact specs, cuz i wanted a park with an identifiable feature (The Graveyard, in my case, is 2 feet higher than The Green Monster). maybe make it so that if you want to use a real life park as the basis for your FOOL park you can do it without resorting to the spreadsheet. i didn't know how to use it or else i wouldn't utilized it. it was saturday and i didn't have the patience to want to figure it out. lol

The spreadsheet lists basically every stadium on earth, too. Baseball, that is. So if you know what park you wanna use, lemme know and I can plug the numbers in or help you build the park you want. I just provided the sheet in case folks wanted to do it themselves, but I can totally help, since I have to input the figures anyway.
