This deal is a heartbreaker for management and fans alike.
Patrick Taylor is the last "Origonal Terrapin" and was the face of the franchise. This is like Greenbay trading cheese, Milwaukee trading beer, LA trading breast implants....the city will never be the same again!
Two 1st ballot HoFers leave Baltimore in this deal, in the move that had to be done.
"Suarez is EXACTLY what this team needs in the middle of the lineup, and both Pate and Morris became expendable with the progress of our rookies." exclaimed the Terrapin GM. "Sometimes in the bussiness of baseball you have to look past personal feelings, and put the team 1st."
In an attempt to avoid the lynching mob, he continues "And Ignacio Costa is the best 3B prospect we've had in the system since Arthur Summers, and his is only 2yrs away"
This deal hurts...it hurts BAD knowing that Patrick will not become the alltime saves leader as he will become a setup man with his new squad, but we added some much needed pop!

This is a huge trade. Should be interesting to see if it's the deal that puts Hartford in position to capture their first RL pennant. As for Baltimore, I sure hope Suarez pans out.
Hartford Agrees.
In loosing Suarez I loose a good OF, however im Banking that I have enough OF'S to get the job done this season. I sure up my Pen even more with bringing in Taylor, and I now have an excess of SP'S to play around with for tonight and if not, i bring in 2 vets to pitch, and let the young guys get more time in AAA!

OOooo really? I never checked to be honest...I don't suppose you have those numbers handy? (At work and 13hrs away from OOTP access :( )
FYI, Hensley is inked in as my closer. Here's hoping for a sub 3 era!
Patrick has been a setup man for 1 yr in his career. All he did was go 10-3 with a 1.61era.

That is a nice jump!!!. Glad it seems to have worked out. If he gets some MLB playing time he will prob improve even more. Real curious to see how he turns out after that jump.

Hensley, isnt to shabby himself, I dont think that he has ever had a sub 3 ERA. He is good for a solid 3 every year though if i remember correctly.
Patrick isnt gonna be used as a set up guy. Marane or however you spell his name is gonna be used as the set up I think, which would put Patrick in the middle relief role.
Im hoping that says a lot about my pen this year. I have the career saves leader in Diaz in middle relief, and then Patrick who is up there on the saves list in the middle relief role as well.
