The Michigan at Notre Dame showdown will take place tomorrow night. The winner will take home whatever the trophy is called (and I can't remember what the game is called). Notre Dame will break out the green jerseys for the game. That's right...The Green Jerseys!
Three prospects are in town for us. Once we get through with the Wolverines, they'll be signing the letter of intent to play for the Irish.

Yawn. Clemson beats NC State 41-7...another 35-0 lead in the first half, and then I called the dogs off. No more blitzes, no more 1st string offense or defense.
If I don't walk into the ACC Title Game undefeated, I will be stunned. That means I expect to walk over SirFozzie and his BC Fecals. I will win the BCS Title this season. That is my goal. I don't think anyone can hold a candle to the team we've got, combined with my playcalling.
I don't know if recruiting will go so smoothly...but if we don't have the BCS title in our hands at the end of the year, then something went terribly wrong.

Tough loss to Galaxy in a really fun game. The only annoyance is I was up 3 with 30 seconds left on 3rd down. With single coverage I go for the endzone. I am on the 30 or so of ND mind you. He picks it off in the endzone, which is fine, I figured he might, but of course no one on my team runs towards the ball and he takes it to the house for the win.
Stupid on my part, good play on his, but it's a gripe that will forever be in this game I suppose. Just have to tuck it away for next time I suppose.
I can't wait to get some guys I recruit on my team. Running UM's offense is impossible with the QB's I have. My passing QB has no throwing power, and my running QB cannot throw so it's obvious what's happening when he's in the game. Not saying it would've made much differnece today because I made some boneheaded plays but it'll help me balance out my offense a lot more.

It was 3 or 4 yards, the problem was my run game was doing nothing because I had 3 starters on my OL injured for the game. He came out playing the run with 8 in the box so I hot routed the deep ball to my star WR. It was a calculated risk at the time but I do regret it now.
Generally I run it no questions ask but I took a chance this time around as he had shreaded me at times with long passes. Definetly felt more confident up 10 then up 6.
Kodos
08-14-2008, 10:27 PM
I've had such terrible luck completing long passes, even into single coverage, that I probably would have hot-routed to something short in that scenario. But it is hard to resist going deep when you see that there will be no safety help.

Yes. I always play too agressive, which is a huge problem for me. Moreso today on D though where I got torched because of the damn hit stick being so tempting.
I had my break too though. Like when I went to punt on 4th and long and was about to shank it so I just hurridly hit buttons and somehow my punter started throwing the ball instead of kicking it which got me a pass interence call for the first.
It was just one stupid play at the end that killed me. Still it was a really fun game that had plenty of drama and I will have revenge next year.

Stupid lag kicked in for a split second and cause my guy to juke during the run-back.
Dex threw an INT in the last drive to seal the game for us. Interesting thing is we had the ball before that drive and I threw a pick. I thought I was done. We're driving and I just tried to forced that pass. I know how you feel about playing too aggressive at times. I do it as well.

Oh thats right ha. It wasn't even a fake punt. I hit the right stick on accident so it was gonna be like a 5 yard punt so I was trying to do anything to fix it. Somehow the passing icons came out so I just hit X and somehow got a first down on the penalty.

I appreciate the kind words. Their was alot of luck involved too. My backup MLB had 4 picks. Their was another pick where the pass was thrown behind the reciever into a CB who was just sitting there.
As far as the rolling out. I don't watch where I'm moving very often and there is only 2 instances where I intentionally rolled out (once due to my recievers being covered, once by design). I hope it was was still somewhat enjoyable of a game and didnt feel cheesy(for NCAA 09)

I think you and Clemson have the easiest road. Ohio State has to play a handful of RFL-controlled teams in the Big 10. Of course, they have the best roster. Georgia (KWhit) looks pretty tough as well. I just think it's way to early to tell. The BCS race will be extremely hot.

As most would expect, Minnesota walked all over FCS West, 49-7. Really, the only play that I'd consider a "highlight" would be this one, only for the ending:

Indiana travelled to Massachusetts to take on Sir Fozzie's Boston College Eagles. Both teams had long drives for TDs on their respective first drives. Austin Starr's chipshot field goal right before the half gave us a 10-7 lead.
We took a 10-point lead in the third quarter when Senior WR Brandon Walker-Roby broke a few tackles after a strike from junior QB Kellen Lewis.

I thought running through the BC Eagle was over the top though. ;)
Trailing 17-7 in the third, trouble really started for Boston College on the ensuing drive after they got pinned deep by a couple of penalties.

A short while later, we cashed in on the miscue with this Kellen Lewis pass to Darius Logan that put us up 24-7.

From there we looked to run some clock and secure the win, eventually prevailing 34-22.
The win moves us to 3-0 heading into a bye week. Two weeks from now, we'll take on HA's Spartans in our first taste of Big Ten play.
Good game, SirFozzie. Tough to overcome a 4-turnover deficit. You definitely came out on the short end in the tipped-ball drills. Good luck the rest of the way.

I'm having a lot of fun too. Even if Ball State came close to beating me. I feel better since I thrashed MSU in my solo dynasty, even after my star QB went down for 9 weeks with broken ribs.

Actually it looks like KWhit, SirFozzie, and Cartman all have stuff left to do. So it seems unlikely that we will advance tonight.
