Hey guys. I'm going to give until midnight on Wednesday the 30th for everyone to do their preseason stuff, and then I will advance the game to the next stage. Get those files in (or face the iron fist!) ;)

Here's the schedule so far. I have incorporated all the OOC changes, I believe. Bolded games are ones that have been changed from the original schedule.

As long as people have been able to schedule enough humans, yes. Working on that now.

I'm extending the deadline until 8pm EST on July 31st to give RKG a chance to get his files in, while also giving folks a shot to play a game tomorrow night.

Here is the official schedule. I've successfully entered everything into the game. I'll apologize to KWhit now, as he has three tough road games to start things off. I wanted to switch one to a home game, but couldn't make it happen. My regrets, and good luck, sir.

Everyone, please let me know if you spot any issues.

Also, RKG has been removed from the league due to lack of participation/communication. A replacement will be announced soon.

Yep. He didn't act very interested in the league or make an effort to hit the deadline. I want owners who will keep up with stuff and be a team player. Opening but not responding to PMs or even bothering to come over to FOFC to see what was up was the nail in the coffin.

I said from the start that I'd rule with an iron fist. ;)

Seriously, as long as someone keeps in touch and lets me know what's up, they're fine. But if I see files not getting in, and get no response as to why that is happening, then I am going to be thinking long and hard about removing that owner.

Is there a weekly "sim schedule", for lack of a better term. We talked about a 7 day schedule to get 2 games in? How does that work if we can only play one week at a time? You know what I'm trying to ask?

Kodos
08-01-2008, 12:24 PM
I think the rule will be that after each sim round, people will have 7 days to take care of that week's games/recruiting. If everyone finishes up before the 7 days are over, then we will advance. But people will always have a full 7 days to get their activities finished.

I think you can do that. If you find the calls tedious, you might want to try the quick-call feature. You just tell it how long you want to talk to a player and whether you want to offer them a scholly.

I believe it will if you have CPU assistance set on. However, I highly recommend you just use the time yourself with quick calls. It is much easier than last year and gives you more control than leaving it to the CPU.

You guys probably should have figured out a time to play ahead of time. A couple PMs could have done the trick. Waiting until the deadline is near to even try to set up a game is disappointing to me and probably most of the other people in the league.

I'm not trying to run anyone off, but if you're not that into the league, there's no harm in just saying so and walking away. On the other hand, if you're excited about the league, try to keep things moving so people stay interested. At least let people know if there is a scheduling issue or if you're busy at work. It's the worst when there is a wait and nobody knows when (or even if) you're going to try to play. A little courtesy and planning goes a long way.

You guys probably should have figured out a time to play ahead of time. A couple PMs could have done the trick. Waiting until the deadline is near to even try to set up a game is disappointing to me and probably most of the other people in the league.

You're such a dictator. :D

They don't call it the Iron Fist League on talk radio for nothing.

What it all boils down to: Make an effort to participate and play your games in a timely manner, and everything will be great.

I see the option to set teams to autopilot. If I do that, can one of the owners play the other team as an AI team? Hmmmm.

WVU and Georgia have been put on autopilot. Either team can play the other team against the cpu now. The week will be advanced promptly at 10 EST tonight.

2 things. I have sent WVU 2 pms to try to get this game played with no response. So I'm not sure if he's in or out.

I also am not really interested in being lectured.

I will get my game played by 10.

I don't see a way to play the game against the CPU. Looks like it has to be cpu vs. cpu. Ah well, at least my recruiting is complete.

I'll set it your team back to manual.

Not trying to lecture, but there hasn't been any communication to let people know what was up. No response to PMs, no posts in the thread saying you were trying to contact WVU. All I saw was one post that seemed to suggest you were hoping that WVU would magically just show up (a.k.a. no planning had been done behind the scenes).

Your team should be available to play the cpu vs. WVU now.

Same here, but I'm looking forward to doing my recruiting tomorrow night.

FWIW, I don't see any teams with 2 victories out there. Can the guys who were seeing that check things out?

I'll get on in a hour or so and check it out. Just curious, can you copy and paste an excel spreadsheet on to the forum?

Dunno. I take pictures, edit in Photosphop, and save as jpegs.
