New York sends:
SP William Kay
RF Henry "Goat" McKinney
New Yorks draft pick for 1966
Compton sends:
2b Sancho Lopez
SP Jose Gonzalez
SP Guus Barthen
I once again like this deal for both teams. New York gets a young gun in Lopez that has the potential to be a fine addition to a team real soon, and Gonzalez and Barthen are both solid guys that should be able to compete for back of the starting rotation spots in the future.
On the Compton side, They get a proven pitcher in William Kay that should be able to add innings to the Compton staff that has minor pitching issues. However, Henry McKinney looks like he will take a starting job right now and start to pay off as soon as the first pitch is thrown opening day. On top of that they get NY'S draft pick. Not to shabby if you ask me.
All and all a good deal for both teams. Cant wait to take a look at this one 3 years from now to discuss it.
