This may change if we have a radical change in membership, but otherwise, I think we can start these preliminary polls now that we have the members in place to see which option is the most favored.

I like the idea of roughly 1/3 of my games (with the potential for 1 additional out of conference) being against the guys on here. This also allows us to stick to the "sub 80 OVR rating" idea. So I'll take option D.

I like option D. You get three people per conference, yet it is spread among four BCS conferences. I think it increases the chance for exciting drama and bowl match-ups (and a battle for the BCS game spots, including the title game).

I may have mis-voted. So...if roughly 1/3 of my games are against human people, which one do I need to vote for? It's early here :)

Ok I think my vote has changed to option C...just for the sake of playing people here more than twice a year. Assuming we go with any conference other than the Pac-10, it should be doable. Sorry Galaxy, I meant to vote for option C from the get go...of course if the final decision winds up being option D, I'm still going to be happy :P
EaglesFan would you mind reset the poll?

With 4 conferences, if you play 2 human non-conference games, you will get about 1/3 against human teams. With 3 conferences, you'll have 3 (maybe only 2 in some years depending upon the league) against other human foes and will only need at least 1 non-conference human game to play about a third.

I'm not sure how to reset the poll, but when we do the final tally, it is easy enough to subtract 1 from option 4 and add 1 to option 3. If 2 options are very close but there is a few votes for other options (i.e. no clear winner), I plan on having a subsequent poll with just the 2 most popular options.

Is the NCAA schedule now 11 or 12 regular (not including conference championship games) games?

Just a quick note, don't forget that in the 12-team, 2-division conferences, you may have the possibility of not playing each other every year if you're in opposing divisions. I think even the Big 10 (you'll miss two teams a year) and Pac 10 (you miss one team a year) has that possibility.

Yep. I was thinking that which is why I put the parathentical about some conferences reducing the number of human vs human games.

My vote is to go with 3 conferences of 4 teams. That sounds like a good mix of inter-conference rivalries and flexibility when choosing teams.
Are there really 4 viable BCS conferences with 3 teams rated less than 80 anyway?

I voted for 4 conferences of 3 teams each. I'm honestly okay with either 4x3 or 3x4. I'm sure those will be the two most popular choices.

i voted for 1 conference, all human teams. i know its in the minority, but we're doing this MP league to play against humans. i can play against the computer on my own time any time i want. i like the thought of knowing that on x day of the week, at x time of the evening, i can play against some good FOFC competition.
oh well, whatever we choose will work for me.

I voted for 4 conferences with 3 teams. It gives more flexibility in how many games against humans you have. If you only want 2, you can have that, and if you want more, you can schedule up to 4 out of conference opponents (in season two).

Kind of how I feel. Plus, I think having 4 conferences as oppose to 3 allows for more bowl match ups (and national championship/BCS bowl contenders).

How will we do the voting for the actual conferences?
Do we take a vote on all six conferences first? Do you do a run-off for each conference?

With 7 votes I don't think one more vote makes a difference. 4 conferences of 3 teams looks like the winner.
It's actually 6 votes, since Sun Tzu asked to change his vote, but with 5 being the highest that any other option can get, that looks like the winner. :)

I think king is right on this one. I was leaning towards 3 conferences with 4 guys each which would mean more Human v Human games...in fact I even meant to vote for that one but accidentally voted for D. That would put the vote at 4-6, and if cartman votes for C too then it would be 5-6. I'm somewhat afraid of getting my schedule in year 2 or 3 and finding out that I don't play either of my in conference human opponents, and having to burn every out of conference game on them.
But, the flip side is that we'll have a much better chance of playing eachother in bowl games or conference championships in the future, and that's much more fun than playing in week 4 or week 9. So I say bring on the 4 conference 3 people layout.

I like the idea of watching three or four teams battle in the polls and BCS rankings, with two spots in the BCS title game.

Yeah. Especially since most conferences have title games and the last 2 weeks of the season (rivalry weeks & conference championships) will probably be the best 2 weeks of the season every year.
