To that end, who is supposed to be scanning my conference? Shouldn't they have scanned me by now to verify?
I don't care much whether you are a good guy or a wolf honestly. You make your conference very dangerous to the other three conferences. My conference loses if either the wolves win or another conference wins. So either way, you're a threat. I changed my vote solely because I'd rather vote for Molson then have the vote be "no sanctions".

Rumours from South Bend indicate that new coach Alan T has instituted his gameplan for longterm success. Teams from across the country are being recruited to join a new Catholic Conference, whose headquarters would lie in South Bend, chaired by Alan T himself. Word is that the Irish are in talks with several coaches, and as many as 3 major powers could be "converting" to the Catholic Conference. Financial experts speculate that in order to succeed in establishing the conference, the money provided by the BCS to the at-large team would be required.
Starting now, when a scout throws the game, he must specify if he wants to learn whether or not the team he's scouting is a Catholic, or a detractor.
We've essentially ignored this for a day, but we need to start trying to identify the Catholics. And it is about time, if you ask me. Would it make sense for our seers to start with scanning folks with 100+ PPs? I would think that those teams would be the most likely to end up with the at-large berth.

I've looked through the thread and from what I can tell, Molson is suspected to be a wolf because Lathum has been cleared and Alan T (now path12) and Chesapeake have contributed more in this thread. Is that correct?
Anyways, below are the teams Chesapeake, Molson, Path12, and St Cronin scheduled in their non-conference schedule.
Molson - Racer (loss), team 40 (win), Team 65 (win), Barkeep (loss) * only week 4 game scheduled between 2 humans
Path12 - Team 50 (loss), team 35 (loss), Team 20 (loss), team 88 (loss)
Chesapeake - Jeheinz (loss), Anxiety (loss) * only week 3 game scheduled between 2 humans, ntndeacon (win), team 40 (loss)
St. Cronin - team 35 (win), team 37(win), team 45 (loss), team 40 (loss)
I think it would have been to the wolves' advantage to schedule each other in week 1. That could have not happened though since according to Chesapeake, Molson and I share the same role.

It was concluded for me when Lathum was cleared. Obviously, others will feel differently.
I argued as hard as I did because I believed that it was more valuable to sanction Molson last turn than it was to sanction jeheinz. As it turned out, the wolves smacked jeheinz but good, so both of them took equal hits.

From the wire:
More rumours come in from South Bend. Word is that Notre Dame head coach Alan T has managed to convince three schools, all formerly loyal to their conference, to join his prospective Catholic Conference. Word is that these schools must obtain the at-large BCS money in order to cover expenses involved in forming the conference. However, if Notre Dame manages to win the national championship, it will earn enough in advertising revenue. Most experts see this turn of events as something that would be bad for the BCS conferences, and college football as a whole.

Looking at the new point totals quickly, it seems that detractors distributed their points in the following manner:
Racer: 27 points
Mr. Wednesday: 23 points
If any conference saboteur sabotaged one of us, then these totals are off and the detractors also targeted another player or players.

Chesapeake, are you the lobbyist or saboteur in your conference? I ask this because it pertains directly to who the detractor likely is in my conference. Path12 is probably not the detractor since St. Cronin is presumably the detractor seer and Lathuum was previously cleared. That leaves Molson, your conference's equipment manager, as the loan candidate for the detractor in your conference. Since Swaggs and I are the scout and equipment manager in my conference, respectively, it is unlikely either one of us is a detractor. If you are the lobbyist, then Barkeep is the detractor in my conference. If you are the saboteur, then Chief Rum is the detractor in my conference. If we can find out who the detractor in my conference, we will then know the detractor in the final conference because their will be only one unclaimed role for a detractor.
This clears no one from being a Catholic detractor. However, by revealing your Chesapeake, all seers will be able to start focusing on finding Catholic detractors.

I just realized my logic is flawed. Molson is indeed probably the detractor in the SEC. However, knowing chesapeake's role won't tell us which conference the detractor saboteur is in and which conference the detractor lobbyist is in.
However, I believe Jeheinz previously said he was a lobbyist. Because Jeheinz took such a huge hit the other day, he is almost certainly not a detractor. Since the seer and equipment manager detractors roles are accounted for at this point, that means I am almost certain that the saboteur comes from the Four Horsemen conference (whoever that is) and the lobbyist comes from our conference. Therefore, I am almost sure that Barkeep is a detractor.

Alright, here are my current thoughts on the Catholic detractors. Pass said that there are three and all three were originally loyal to their conference. From a game balance standpoint, a conference that has only two players loyal to it has very little chance of winning. So I think a likely scenario is that the other two Catholic detractors come from the TWC. Another possibility is that our victories conditions will change and we will only need a loyal player to win, not one specifically from our conference. Of course, it's quite possible neither one of these is the case.
I think the best way to go about finding the Catholic detractors is to have one scout to scan either ntndeacon or claphamsa. I would suggest scanning ntndeacon though since he currently has more power points then claphamsa.
The remaining scouts should then scan the current point leaders: chesapeake, jeheinz72, and myself. Players with the most points poise the greatest threats. Mr. Wednesday took a decent size hit yesterday so clearly just because Chesapeake, Jeheinz, and I are not likely to be detractors does not mean we are not Catholic detractors.

Why would you think that two detractors come from one Conference? I find that highly unlikely Racer.
I think the three Catholic detractors may come from one conference. That would give us the following groups:
-4 detractors
-4 Catholic detractors (3 from the TWC)
-3 groups of 3 conference loyalists
If the Catholic detractors come from seperate conferences, then that means there are conferences that only have two teams loyal to it. Assuming that the victory condition isn't going to change for teams loyal to their conference, those two teams then have virtually no chance of winning because they get beat in the polls (because 4 people voting together overrules any group of 2 people voting together) and also would be vulnerable to night attacks which regular detractors are not unless it is convenient meaning that they would have a very hard time winning the computer poll as well.

I think it's a possibility and it can easily be confirmed or proven not true by simply scanning you or ntndeacon. I am against scanning both of you. We would only be using 1 out of 3 scouts on the TWC. This of course is assuming we actually still have 3 good scouts. We're risking a lot to NOT scan ntndeacon when he is currently 5th in power points. We know #3 in power points is a Catholic and #4 in power points is a detractor so it makes sense to scan the top three unknowns in terms of power points (which are Chesapeake, ntndeacon, and myself).
By the way, I don't believe this was ever answered. Who is the saboteur in the Four Horsemen conference? It would be helpful to know who not to vote for on the final day.

This is what I was really hoping for. Both Mr. Wednesday and Barkeep are lobbyists which means they can avoid the 50 point deduction if they want. Mr. Wednesday might get a power points hit from the detractors whereas Barkeep won't. Barkeep in my opinion was a better candidate for the sanctions but targeting him would have likely resulted in the sanctions being shifted to someone else (probably Mr. Wednesday, Chesapeake, or myself).

Voting for Mr. Wednesday or Barkeep seems useless as either one would most likely just move the vote to someone else. I can vote for Notre Dame and I'm going to be gone the rest of today when I can make a better vote so
Vote St. Cronin
He is the highest ranked likely detractor who isn't a lobbyist. Also to the detractors: I highly recommend you use some of you sabotage points on Notre Dame today. They are becoming a threat because their opponents points aren't divided by the number of games they play. We aren't allowed to sanction them so really the only hope is you or the saboteurs sabotage Alan T.

ie: I am a threat to you as you are in a good position to win the title game right now, while I barely am able to beat a level 30 team, and lose to level 40 teams. :) So you think its a good idea for other team's saboteurs to give up their chance of trying to do things for their conference to get an at large bid in order to help you keep me from being a threat.
Sounds good, everyone give up your chance to win for Racer! :)
