Another weekend filled with upsets! Every team in the AP preseason Top 10 has lost a game this season. Half of the current top 10 wasn't ranked preseason. Could this be a season when the "old guard" conferences (Big 10, Pac 10, SEC, Big 12) don't put a team in the championship game? A South Florida-Boston College match isn't out of the realm of possibility.

This week's submissions are due in by 6pm Central, Thursday Oct. 18th. Here's how the teams fared this weekend:

The big gap, as I see it, is between 15 and 16. The top 15 teams clearly have better resumes than anybody else.

I'm almost to the point where a top 20 might be better, because I'm really stretching to let anyone below 21 into the poll.

Guys, I'd prefer that discussions about people's votes be held off until after voting concludes, as to not affect votes that haven't been submitted yet.

It was so hard to rank everybody this week. Just look at #s 7-9 on my list, and think about the ramifications of that. I don't even understand it, and it's my list.

One to speak.

Yep, I'm a homer. Just look how high Texas is in my poll. Meanwhile, according to your poll, Oklahoma has beaten #16 and #18 and lost to an unranked team. LSU has beaten #5, #12, and #15 and lost to #8. Which clearly puts them 8 spots lower than Oklahoma.

LOL

Sorry, cartman. This shit's too funny.

Huck I like you man, but again Kansas beat the #24 ranked team and a bunch of nobodies and you have them at 3. They beat two teams with a winning record, Kansas State and Central Michigan. Combined record of their opponents is 15-24.

What I am getting at is that this season, more than any other is really messed up. We could spend hours picking apart everyone's ballot. We each have our own built in biases and different ways of polling. Doesn't make one better than the other.

if you think this is funny/bad you should see the "real" polls....now that is funny. Talk about homerism in those polls geeze.

And when Kansas loses they will drop. Polls shouldn't be about predicting the future. I am ranking the teams based on what they've done this year.

Kansas has not lost. They have pounded the patsies and won a road game over a team that I have ranked #15.

SnDvls -

Thanks for pointing out that the "real poll" voters are terrible also. That's not directly relevant but I appreciate it all the same.

I agree 100% with your statement about polls should be about now and not the future. I look at it this way...I honestly don't believe that Kansas could beat any of those teams ranked above them. So that's why I don't put them as high. In your top 10, how many teams do you think Kansas could beat? If you say all but the two above them, I would have no arguement.

I have South Carolina ranked a bunch of spots over a team that beat them...it's a messed up year. Oregon over a Cal team that they lost to at home. You could spend days trying to figure out the perfect spot for all these teams.

Huckleberry, I sure hope you come in every week and ridicule everyone's picks while holding up your own as the true, unbiased rankings. It sure won't get tiresome at all.

Polls are opinions not truth. What you think they have done and what other people think they have done is also opinion. Why dont you have Hawaii in the top 25? They have done all they coud at this point just like Kansas who you have ranked #3.

Disclaimer: I fully expect to piss a bunch of people off, but that is not my intent.
This is my HONEST ranking of the TOP 25 teams IN MY OPINION.
After the turmoil of the last few weeks I did not consult my previous rankings and instead started from scratch. therefor, preious rankingss will not be included in this poll as I consider this week a new beginning.

Again, I apologize and know I will get flamed for this but this isnt how I think the resumes look but who I think the 25 best teams in college football are.

Is anybody else bugged that now that South Carolina is a notable program that you can't really tell what people mean when they say "USC"?

Referring to South Carolina as USC is pretty much confined to the SEC region. Although it might start picking up steam in the Trojans lose a couple more and the Gamecocks keep winning.

I respect everyone's poll but there is definitely some homer-picking going on. I can understand moving your favorite team up a few spots but the level some of you have taken it is ridiculous. That being said there is no way Cartman can stop this problem because we're human and it is only natural to have bias.
