I called my nephew, who lives in Iowa City, and asked if he could scare up a swim cap for my 7 year old. She is on the local swim club team. The people tell you to get a swim cap you recognize. Ok. Im a big Iowa Hawkeye fan. I ask my nephew for something like this:

Yellow swim cap with a big Tigerhawk
He calls me today and tells me he found a swim cap. The only thing is that it is black and says Iowa and has the Nike swoosh. It is what the University of Iowa swim team wears in meets.
He proceeds to tell me that he went to the U of Iowa field house and asked for that particular swimcap. They told him that they dont have them anymore. They said they gave the last one to Jimmy Carter, who was in town a month ago for something.
The former President of the United States is in possesion of what should be my daughters swim cap. Bastard.

probably for the best - that thing looks like it would get really heavy when it gets wet.

Carter's improbable Olympic dream continues to Beijing.

Only Nixon can go to China (and win the 200m freestyle).

For the longest time I assumed my younger brother's name was Jimi Carter, the same as the former President's. My parents were obviously influenced in naming my brother "Jimi," and my stepdad's last name is Carter.

It fit. I was probably 6 years old before I finally understood what was going on.

That's good because I don't.

Billy Carter probably took those.

Edit: Why am I referencing only dead people in a thread about a swim cap? Clearly I have issues.

And the winner for the most uncalled for post goes to....

We're talking about someone's 7 year old daughter.

I, for one, feel great about it. It can only take heat off of me for my supposedly off color post in the first page of the Benoit thread,

Dude, don't even bring it up. You got hosed by non-meditators.

Jimmy Carter was like the Aquaman of Presidents. Unfortunately his reign was over a 4 year span when not a single crisis happened at sea, so he was essentially powerless.

Stepdad's last name = Carter.
Our last name = Polston.
My brother's name = Jimi.

As a 5 year old, I assumed me and my brother's last name was Carter, since that was my stepdad's name.

Let me know if I need to walk you through that.
