Sweed

My son's laptop died this morning and he has decided to get a new one, of course that means Vista.
He has MS Office 2003 and I have 1 license left on a 3 license Norton 2007 AV that he will want to install on his vista machine. Guy at Best Buy pretty much told us anything we try to install ourselves on visa will be met with vista spinning the disc and spitting it out and not doing the install. Of course I can get Norton from the BB salesman (which by happenstance their techs can install) along with office 2007 which is of course vista compatible.
I figured either he was full of it or at the least there had to be workarounds to get them to install (but maybe I'm wrong?). Did a google and found both office 2003 and norton 2007 have programs for d'load that will make them vista compatible.
Anyone here running office 2003 or norton 2007 on their vista machines?
Did the apps install ok and just need to be "upgraded" with the free compatibility programs?
Appreciate any advice you can to give on getting these two programs to work
with vista?
