I think we have a pretty good team. cronin, GE, Schmidty, you and me. I hope none of us is a wolf though.
You know what's going to suck? I'm so used to going to the main page and just clicking the thread in WW that's currently listed.
That's not going to be a fun day if I do that right now.
And Ardent Honor: I'm no wolf.

Dunno. I think Oz, I think Terpkristin's cat, honestly.
Or the musician.

Ozzy was one of the runner-up last season. Van Helsing had Kate Beckinsdale. Howard was the last name of the Three Stooges. I have no idea on Lupus.

A f*cking elitist. Actually, I don't think any of us actually are (on FOFC). It's a somewhat long story. I can't remember who coined the phrase on here, but I believe it arose from certain people thinking certain other people were acting like elitists. Most of those elitists were members that had been here since the old days of another FOF message board.

First, good catch ITC! I'm glad you made it on the team!
Now,
Oh and also before everyone leaves, I need at least one person from each tribe to send me a PM to be a "volunteer". You may not post anywhere that you have volunteered. If a tribe fails to have anyone volunteer there will be consequences. Of course too many people volunteering for this unknown thing could be bad too. So just how adventurous do you feel?
Since you and I are the only ones here, do you want to volunteer or do you want me to?

So, I guess we need some sort of team theme.
C'mon in Survivors.
I hope you had a nice night. I want to thank those of you who volunteered. Of course those who were chosen now are a little more evil than before, but let's not let that bother us.
On to today's reward challenge. In Werewolf words are important. It's how you decide who might be a wolf or how a wolf can save himself (or herself) from getting the ax. Today's challenge will test your abilities to use words. Each tribe is to pick a theme and you will then write four poems on that theme.
One poem will be an acrostic of at least 6 lines, one a limerick, one an 8-20 line poem with a rhyme scheme, and one a haiku.
The poems are due by 7 PM today here in the thread. You may post your poems all at once or separately as the day goes on, but once a poem is posted it may not be changed.
Today you'll be playing for something that can save you here on Werewolf Island. I have here two Werewolf Idols. One of them is filled with Wolfbane and will prevent a Werewolf attack from being successful. The other is useless. The winning tribe will decide, in their Tribal Thread, who gets these two Idols. After that the possessor of the Idols may keep or pass, publicly or privately, the Idols.
There might even be some celebrity judges coming to take a look at your poems, so I'd get to work.
Survivors ready? Go!
We definitely need a theme, and RA is working on the 8-20 already. Maybe we can look at his being the theme, whatever he's choosing.
We'll need two others to step up as well. I'll take the limerick.
ImTheCrew
02-06-2007, 10:08 AM
im not very good with words :-(
Well, worst comes to worst, it doesn't say each poem has to by an individual. I could try and come up with something...
but mercy, I got a lot of females to put up with while I'm out. It would be hard for me to do more than one. One? I can probably wing it and get it done.
ImTheCrew
02-06-2007, 10:17 AM
i could try to do the ryhme theme but im not promising, and im guessing were waiting for RA, to see what the theme is?
Think so. Meh, I don't like that, but we'll deal with it.
Try to come up with something werewolfish, though. I'm hoping that's the direction he's going with.
I'll post some stuff I can come up with over the next couple of hours.
I have an ultrasound on my neck at 1 Central, and then work after that. I'll have some net access, but really no time to be creative after that.
Anyone here can copy my work and post it as their own in the main thread, if we need it.

Written rather quickly in iambic pentameter. A Shakespearean Sonnet:
FOFC Werewolf
It started when we came to the Sideline,
To muse and talk about the game of Jim,
Blacky left and SkyDog said “This is mine!”
So he made a website for a text-sim.
And that was how eff oh eff see started,
SkyDog up front, Ryan S in the rear,
The board filled up until someone farted,
Then we voted someone out with a jeer.
And that was how WereWolf was brought about,
With no whistles and certainly no bells,
No, there are no polls, there is not a trout,
We vote to lynch WereWolves to save ourselves.
We kill all Werewolves and their evil kin,
And that is when we will finally win
By the way, I think we should title all of our poems. Gives us the edge in a judging contest.

You guys can post my poem in the other thread if you think you like it. There is something else to discuss here.
I think that from BK's post this morning, whoever volunteered is evil. That being said, we're safe from evil tonight. Here's a question for strategy for you guys:
Should we throw this challenge?
Here are my pros and cons:
Pros: Another tribe could be safe tonight from the wolves. I believe that eventually we'll be merged, so as far as later on down the road it may behoove us to allow another team to win immunity today.
Cons: I don't like to lose. Also, the more we let other teams lose members, the fewer people they have in the challenges, thus making it easier for us until we merge. When we do merge, we merge with greater numbers. Thanks to ITC, we're already one member more than two other tribes.
I'm good with either strategy, but it may be something we want to discuss before we post our poems in the main thread.
I'm out until after work today, so good luck!

I think we should try to win if we can win. Are the poems due tonight by 7 PM EST?
I believe they are. Also note: It's not wise to have me post them. I have run time errors on this VB script at work and can't use the fancy editing things like posting in red.I like RA's suggestion of titling, as well.
I, I will survive,

As had I. I assume there's at least one wolf in our tribe, but I have no idea what sort of strategy they will take to the tribal competition.
I'm trying to play this as if there is no wolf, as if it were just Survivor, and see where that takes me.
I've got a notion on who's the wolf in this bunch, which isn't something I'm going to share right now.

Do you think there's anything to the idea that the wolves are the volunteers? I don't think that makes a lot of sense, but it seems to be the conventional wisdom.
It makes sense to me...it's their either the wolves...or they have an immunity based on making mistakes and keeping their team from winning challenges...thus, a little more evil.

I'm not sure I buy it.

That the volunteers = wolves. Suppose a tribe had a discussion about who should volunteer. Or what if nobody volunteered? It just doesn't make sense.
You couldn't discuss if you volunteered or not.
I've wondered if that's still a rule or not.

Yes, but prior to anybody volunteering, the tribe could have had a discussion, no? That's how I read it.
I don't think so, that's not the way I read it. Barkeep jumped in here and told us to cut it out.

Somehow I missed that exchange before.
Catch it now? So, your thoughts now?
st.cronin
02-06-2007, 11:22 PM
Well, if you're right, it somewhat narrows down who the wolf might be in our group. I still think that's an unlikely way to pick a wolf. But, Barkeep's games are generally totally baffling to me, even after everything has been explained. I'll go with: I'm still a bit uncomfortable thinking that's how the wolves are picked. What weirds me out a bit is the people thinking it was obvious even though they had no access to this thread.
I don't know what we're supposed to do about the wolves, though.
I'm guessing Barkeep went into other threads and squashed other discussions as well.
st.cronin
02-06-2007, 11:28 PM
That's why I'm thinking my guess is wrong. Maybe BKs comments in other threads made it more obvious.
Maybe, I don't know. Like I said, I'm going to let the werewolves come to me...and try to make my way around them.

In case you guys were wondering, the wolf is probably either ITC or me based upon BK's explanation that the volunteer=evil. I believe that it is a pretty good assumption that the volunteer is a wolf since it would explain his squashing of conversation.
Anyhow, if that is true, then it's probably either ITC or me since we were the only two on. I know that I'm not the wolf; then again, if I were the wolf that is what I'd say. :)

02-07-2007, 07:48 AM
Dola,
I hope that our seer scanned either ITC or me last night. That would narrow it down. I think for the next tribal vote if we don't win immunity we should vote out either him or me. At least in this case we have a pretty good shot at getting a wolf.
Then again, there is the scenario that he didn't volunteer either. In which case, I don't think anyone volunteered. Regardless, I think that it makes it easy to decide whom should be voted out next.
I was hoping barkeep would come in and say if we're allowed to say if we volunteered after the fact, if you will.
I volunteered, but wasn't chosen, so someone obviously volunteered ahead of me. I asked about that and about the seer, and I wasn't chosen for either.
Raiders Army
02-07-2007, 08:30 AM
Okay, so then I think that narrows it down to either ITC or me is the wolf.
I'm out for the morning. See you guys at lunch.
FYI, I'll be voting Jonathan as soon as the window is open. In 5 min. I've got the post ready and waiting. I may start posting in here to get the official timing down.

Nevermind, AE it is all you but I will get the next one. Need to get my vote out of the way.

Actually there is just a penalty (you lose your top score, so in this case you'd have a 3 point penalty)
GE can have the next, it's no problem.
Barkeep must be laughing now at my timing posts.
I think we're in good shape to get everyone in though.

GE, have two windows ready...and try to time it out so you hit it on the time change.
Just a friendly suggestion. :)

I should be able to get the last three. It also looks like I'm going to be close to the most votes, so any suggestions on who we should try to vote for?
Jonathan. Revenge for me...but that's who I want, personally. Who is the other team going after?
We need to try and work RA, ITC, and Schmidty in as well...if we can.

I think he said something like my vote doesn't count because Jonathan voted for me.

I think this is what AE is talking about:
What you must do is be the first to post a vote at that time. Votes should be formatted in your team color and be bold (so, for instance, Oz’s should look like Vote Barkeep . If you’re the first to post on, or after, the designated time your tribe gets 3 points. Second 2, third 1, and fourth none. If your tribe posts before the time or more than one person posts for a tribe, it’s zero points. Also, if the person you vote for is a person who is doing the round for their team, and it is posted before that person’s vote, their vote will not count. Oh and I wouldn’t want to be the person who got the most votes at the end of the day. It’s not quite as bad as a normal vote, but it’s still not too pleasant. Every person on a tribe must do at least one round, but other than that there is no restriction about who can do a round.
It's a bit confusing - it seems like it means that if Blade votes, and then you vote for Blade, your vote doesn't count.
GoldenEagle

So I know how I can time it on my clock here, but how can I test it with the server clock?
