We will be releasing DDS:PB tonight, January 30th, exclusively from our website at 9:00 PM EST. The game will be available for digital download then and will be priced at $34.95 so form an orderly line and get your credit cards ready and we'll see you in about 21 hours.

I'm interesting in trying the "expansion" option he posted over at Wolverine. Add 2 teams and take one with a completely empty slate. With a team of FA the 1st year, that should net you with either the 1st or 2nd pick. Unless ripped by the lottery.

Just to clarify this a little - the game has a built in league size of 32 which has two expansion teams - one in Las Vegas and one in Oklahoma City. If you take over one of these two teams you start with no players or coaches and with one of the top two picks in the draft. From there you go into free agency and have the rest of your cap money to spend (if you want to) on free agents or you can sign 10 scrubs and be like a real expansion team :)

What I will probably do is limit how much salary I can spend in the first year (thinking 50%), raise it to 75% in the second and full cap in the 3rd. That will still allow the expansion team to participate in FA.

The other option is to skip the FA period...attend the draft and then sign 10 players after the draft.

Anyone have any other thoughts that I haven't considered?

You could also limit yourself to a certain max contract during the first season or two FA ... say a little over the mid exception. That way you wouldn't be able to grab any superstars and your team might closer resemble an expansion draft.

...or you could just create a player in the player file named "Expansion Cap Rules" that takes up a portion of the camp for the first two or three seasons (as in NBA files created TPB for the Charlotte Bobcats.)

I'll wait for a full list of new features and try the demo before I pull out the credit card. As I've said in a couple of other threads, I'm pretty happy with where pro sims are at with the last release of TPB, and it will take some substantial new features to get me to jump. I'm dissapointed that there are no foreign leagues in this release, but I realize that it was never promised.

I have no reservations with Gary's two previous basketball games TPB 05 and TCB being the only games along with Bowl Bound College Football that I have played since there release up to this day. The features that he has mentioned seem to be a big step up from TPB 05.
