I am quickly becoming inclined to say that this FOF is the best single player text sim ever made. I'm sure those that disagree with say FM is better, but this version of FOF is brilliant.

I still like 2k4 best. Player development/scouting is too frustrating in 2k7 IMO. Still a great game, tho.

To each their own, but this game seems to have taken a dramatic step forward. The UI alone is way better than 2k4. I have more information on 1 screen with a series of left and right clicks. From making players inactive/active to setting your starting lineup.
In regards to the game play, I am one that likes to actually coach each game and I am very impressed with how the defense adjust to your playcalling if you become predicatable or keep trying out a play that is successful. The games are much tougher and realistic IMHO.
There are also a number of little things that have made the game much more immesive than it had been before. I have taken less notes outside of the game due to a number of changes, so that is a positive for me.

I really am diggin the new player development. My current stud QB is working out pretty well, but I still need to gameplan for him properly. But my super-star RB was in his 7th year when he went down with a devastating ACL tear. I really get a better sense that my older guys are playing on borrowed time, instead of being immortal until their 11th season. And as a result of that, I feel more urgency to win as soon as possible rather than waste a pretty good QB/RB combo (with the RB injury, it may have just happened). It won't last forever now. I love it!
On a side note, my rookie RB who was rated pretty badly, stepped in and after 4 games saw his first 100 yard performance and then went down with turf toe (Doubtful) - Weeks (Unknown). Never saw that before.

To me it's the exact opposite. That is where the game has improved, because now you actually have to put some thought into what who you are drafting and signing.

The thing about FOF, and I wish certain other developers would take notice, that even though the game has a huge amount of depth, it's basically really simple to play and just a lot of fun.

It's growing on me... for MP FOF 2k7 might very well be better, tho I am a bit worried it suffers from HFL syndrome(Talent in rookie drafts doesn't replace the talent from the original draft).
It is a bit of a pain in the ass to track player movements for the entire roster instead of just boomers.

I like 2k4 and 2k7 the same ATM. This may change the more I play 2k7.
