Is anyone else grimacing at the thought of the Wicker Man remake coming out soon with Nicolas Cage? I mean, it's possible that the movie will be good, but a remake of the creepily spectacular original where major plot elements are changed (killer bees? The island's leaders are now all women?) gives it at least one strike going in.

Thoughts?

I posted before on my hatred of remakes, but I may give this one a chance. I still don't think it'll be good but probably not bad either.

The original though was top notch.

Cage's film choices have been all over the place lately. In my last few trips to the movies, I have seen previews for the 9/11 movie, a horror remake (this), and a goofy-looking comic book movie.

I wasn't aware of this remake, but strangely enough I watched this movie last night with the girlfriend. I'd seen it before and loved it, but she was actually very badly affected by the ending...

There is no way in hell they'll leave that ending in the remake IMO.

Absolutely Worst Movie of the Year, if not the decade. Do not see this movie!

I love these types of movies, especially M. Shamala . . . (whatever his name is), but this was really really bad. Some of the really dramatic scenes actually brought me to laughter. Ton of plot holes. Spoiler below:

And, let's just say when you put the main character in a field in daylight in a bear costume in a horror flick, you know things have gone way downhill.

Love the original; not looking forward to this version (and I'm a Nick Cage fan.)
