I just got this from a fantasy football newsletter.

BREAKING NEWS

KMOX Radio in St. Louis just reported Rams HC Mike Martz will step down as head coach of the team, citing health reasons as the major contributing factor in his decision. Martz will reportedly hold a press conference at 5 pm this afternoon to make his announcement official. No replacment has been named, though sources have said Joe Vitt (assistant head coach/linebackers coach) is the leading candidate to take over on an interim basis.

The Cardinals coach???? So he has been coaching two teams? Maybe that is why he sucks so bad?

I bet Martz thinks he coaches the Cardinals, too.

While he is at it, he should step down from the Texans job as well.

I heard yesterday that he considered it early last week, so this doesn't totally surprise me.

I'm shocked Rich Brooks lasted this long.

ESPN says he's taking an indefinite leave of absence, which suggests he could be back if things get resolved.

Health reasons? Like death threats?

After his success in the shrimping business, he just feels like going for a run.

I hope it's nothing too serious. It'll be interesting to see what his backup will do with the team.

They were talking about a bacterial infection in a heart valve. FWIW, the risk of something like this is why people with a prolapsed mitral valve have to take anitbiotics every time they go to the dentist or other similar procedure that has decent risk of bacteria getting into the blood stream. And it is serious, it's life-threatening.

Regardless of anything, I think he is always loyal to his players. I've seen The Point After with him and he defends his players. (At least in public)

Well then, I hope everything goes well for him in the hospital.
