fox article (http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/3496340)

Does it sound like Mourinho is trying to pass the buck and syaing that it was
the subordinates that made the claim and he is just being loyal and trusting?

It almost sounds like they are going to take the fall for him, and get him out of this mess.

What a class act Mourinho is. Just what the best team money can buy needs.

Apart from that one article, did he ever say that he saw it personally? As far as I can remember, it's always been Clarke who was supposed to have seen it.

I never personally heard him say on TV, but I have seen other reports/articles where it has stated he said it. Will be interesting to see what UEFA does.

Well, yes, he said that he saw it personally in one magazine article in Portuguese. But apart from that article, as far as I know, the story has consistently been that it was Steve Clarke who actually saw it. It makes a very real difference, to the topic of this thread especially, whether the formal claim made was that Steve Clarke saw something or that Jose Mourinho saw something.
