I would be willing to pass over as much money as needed to see a reunion tour of Pink Floyd but I doubt it will ever happen.

If you blow up the picture on the link there is something even more shocking than a Pink Floyd reunion. Apparently the same magazine is under the impression that Wham! could pocket $10 million on a reunion tour! I didn't realize the on stage chemistry between George Michaels and The Other Guy (does he have a name) was so appealing.

Edit: Oops, those are pounds not dollars.

I've seen 'em 3 times. I would pay $250 a ticket to see them once more.

i'd pay more to see a Guns N' Roses or Faith No More reunion

I'd be all over that show, but I'll believe Roger Waters and David Gilmour are willing to play music together again when I see it - that split was as acrimonious as any in rock history, and both Waters and Gilmour are known as very stubborn.

Truer words were never spoken. Especially Waters.

Well if they play any songs from The Wall, Roger gets all the money for it. :D

Nah. The rest of the band contributed pretty heavily to The Wall.

But if they play any songs from The Final Cut, I bet he gets all the money. Of course, there's nothing worth playing on The Final Cut.

When Roger and Pink Floyd split, the deal they made was that Roger owns all rights to The Wall and the rest of Floyd owns everything else so the story goes.

I don't think he owns them totally.

If that was the case, how could the band play Comforably Numb, Another Brick in the Wall and Hey You in concert? Which they did on both the Momentary Lapse of Reason and the Division Bell tours.

Let me fact-check...

BTW, you're right about the rights part for songs publishing, I think.

After a tour and a U.K. mini-movie, no one heard from the band for two years. Then in late 1985, Waters left the band and immediately sued the remaining band members for exclusive rights for all the works of Pink Floyd, including the name. The fight was long and messy, lasting over a year. Finally, in 1987, a decision was made. The case was settled out of court when Roger Waters agreed to the settlement David Gilmour offered, he was to receive rights to The Wall and royalities for works he contibuted to.

I'm just kidding anyways, of course they would have to get past all of that to play together.

Fact checking complete.

The Gilmour-led Pink Floyd can play The Wall songs in concert but has to pay Waters a royalty. Most confusing.

heh yeah. I think the other part of the deal was that Gilmour got the name Pink Floyd.

I got the In The Flesh DVD of Roger Waters and he played some songs off Animals, Dark Side and Wish You Were Here, so I guess he paid royalties to Gilmour and co. :D

I read a Rolling Stone article about a year ago that said by chance Waters and Nick Mason bumped into each other at some resort and just fell back in together. As I understand it, from there the whole gang got together for drinks or something, and while falling short of a full reconciliation, at least managed to put petty BS aside and get along together. I also recall Waters said something along the lines of it was time to put all the nonsense aside and just get along as four guys with a good history. However, I recall Waters also said it was very unlikely they would ever come back together musically, this was purely a social getting together.

You never know though. One drink leads to another leads to interesting conversation. I was lucky enough to pay $35 and win a seating lottery when I was at Ohio State to have 12th row tickets to see Floyd in 94. But yeah, I'd pay big bucks to see Waters and Floyd reunited. I think as long as it's just a reunion it could work for a tour. No way they could do a studio project together. Waters and Gilmour are both way to used to being the boss. I don't see them creatively co-existing on any level.

Of course, if the Eagles got back together, it's possible for Floyd to do it as well.

Yeah, if Space Ace got back with KISS anything can happen!

It's a small world, me or one of my friends won the lottery too and I was sitting 8 rows in front of you in row 4. I wasn't a big fan of the Waters-less Pink Floyd but it was still a great night (from what I remember).

Cool d00d. I was left of center. My left ear still doesn't work right from that show, but man it was worth it.

I was taking exams when they were last seen touring in France 1990s.... I'd buy tickets immediately if it were true...

As for Gilmour-lead Pink Floyd playing The Wall songs on stage, any other artist can do it too as long as he pays royalties to Waters, no ?

Roger Waters is a prick. But I'll still see them. Last concert I saw was at RFK...Division Bell tour.
