If your offense or defense struggles during the season, do you blame the coordinators? Why would it be there fault, it appears that playcalling is determined by the head coach. Are the coordinators responsible for preparing their players? So, what is the role of the coordinators? Any help would be appreciated.

yeah, in FOF the coordinators are only responsible for developing players and your head coach is responsible for playcalling, motivation, discipline, and avoiding injuries.

Does this mean your head coach does NOT have any influence in developing players?

correct, the head coach is not responsible for developing players. The head coach is responsible only for his ratings that are highlighted (motivation, discipline, playcalling, injury). The same is true with coordinators -- only their highlighted ratings are used. A number of people find this counterintuitive, because when you think of play calling you think of the coordinators and when you think of developing players you think of the head coach and positional coaches. In FOF2004, however, for better or worse this is the way it works

I can live with this, if in fact the coordinators at some point become head coaches, this would make sense as to why they all have all the ratings, even when they only use a few of them based on their jobs.

Do the coordinators get job offers and enter the head coaching pool at some point? Can head coaches return to being coordinators if they get shitcanned at some point?

Yes, and yes. I still don't like the fact that coordinators have no role in playcalling though.
