I have a much better set of Helmets for FOF 2004 if anyone could host them for me. Since we can't upload here anymore, I need somewhere to put them.
Please email me or send me a pm here.
Thanks,
Todd

These are jpg not bmp, so the quality isn't that good with this screen shot.

Sorry to be a dick, but your steeler helmet is backwards. It should be plain black on that side.

The guy that created these started with a template of the helmet facing that direction, and rather than show the blank side of the Steeler helmet, he opted to show the logo despite it being technically incorrect. Too bad he didn't think of that ahead of time and mirror the original template...

You're not being a dick, all I did was resize them from the helmet project. A bit picky? Yes indeed.
It's funny, not a "Nice job, thanks", instead it's "The Steelers helmet is wrong dude".

If he steelers would own up to the reality that they just can't afford two logos I could handle their fans being picky about it ;)
I think it looks better showing the logo even if it's not like the real one. That is a better solution that to mirror all the other helmets :)

Sorry, I didn't think about the possibility of somebody putting these up just to get "thank you's" and "nice job's".
Thanks for your hard work Todd. Nice job as well. :)

These look great, and I was just looking for some helmets. I was thinking of combining some current logos with throwback logos, depending on which I thought looked the coolest, but I might just go with these instead. Rock on!

I just downloaded them. They remind me of the little plastic helmets you used to be able to get from the "gumball" machines in the grocery store. Thanks.

I should have said this instead. QOTD material for sure!
hurst2112,
Actually, I don't do this for atta-boys... and I appreciate your thanks as well as everyone else's. My other helmets I did awhile back don't show up as nice as these do.

Anyone remember the revolving helmets in the Football Pro series? For some reason it sticks out in my mind that they had the Steelers' logo screwed up in '96. I think they had the logo on both sides when it spun around. Worth posting about, probably not. Fun memories, yes indeed.

I have used Paint for the set I've just done. You need to fiddle with the reduction %, crop and resize. It is a royal pain in the butt, but it works relatively fine.

I was afraid of that. I was doing that, but thought there was a better/easier way.

There might be a better/easier way, I'm just saying I did it the hard way !!!

The option is 'save for web' which allows you to resize the image in Paint shop pro.

You should be thanking the Broncos. Sure, they beat you in the big game a few years ago, but playing their JV squad helped your team make the playoffs pal. :)

OMG! I remember the pencil sets in like 1st grade. Everyone would also want to be the first one in the line for the machine with their quarter. Talk about the memories.:D

Actually has nothing to do with losing to them in the Superbowl, that will always be one of the greatest SB's i have seen. And i was glad to see Elway win it. It is more of just a general disliking of them that started when young and has grown over the years. It started because a friend loved them and always bragged about them and it drove me nuts, then i didn't like Reeves, now i hate Shannohan, who hasn't done much since Elway left...and i have never liked thier uniforms, old or new. Nice city though :D

Very nice work. Never understood about the Steelers only having their logo on one side of the helmet, though...is that a Steelworker Secret Society Mason Symbology kind of thing, or are they just too cheap to put a sticker on both sides of the helmet?

Hehehe... at least they aren't as cheap as the Browns.

As an FYI and a Steeler fan, here is the reason for the single side helmet logo:
The Steelers are the only NFL team that sports their logo on only one side of the helmet. At first, this was a temporary measure because the Steelers weren't sure they would like the look of the logo on an all-gold helmet. They wanted to test them before going all-out.
Equipment manager Jack Hart was instructed to put the logo only on one side of the helmet - the right side. The 1962 Steelers finished 9-5 and became the winningest team in franchise history to date. The team finished second in the Eastern Conference and qualified for the Playoff Bowl. They wanted to do something special for their first postseason game, so they changed the color of their helmets from gold to black, which helped to highlight the new logo.
Because of the interest generated by having the logo on only one side of their helmets and because of their team's new success, the Steelers decided to leave it that way permanently.
