No. That had nothing to do with mrskippy's suspension.

I appoligize, that didn't explain it well.
In the HTML thread and the bugs in 5.0a threads skippy had some moments of trolling and was right in the middle of the controversy SD had warned him to stay away from.

Although my personal opinions mean nothing in this matter, I believe it was justified. This isn't something you can look at in these 2 threads. What it comes down to was what SD had warned him before coming back and his past history.

That's tough to say. I am certain SkyDog warned him and he was completely justified for violations of said warnings.
But I look at that as a stand alone, and it just isn't enough. Is skippy really to stay away from all controversial topics? What's the fun here of you can't give your opinion. I think we have crossed the line from stopping true trolling and people beinf assholes into stopping someone from simply sharing his opinion, be it overzealius or not.
For instance, I read that entire HTML thread when it happened and while skippy vigorously stood up for his stance, I didn't find a single instance where he insulted anybody or acted liek a total ass. I thought he kept himself in pretty good control, especially compared to the way he has done things int he past. To me, warning him about his behavior in that thread is akin to telling a man to shut up about his opinion. Just my observation, but that's what I saw.
And as for the straw on the camel's back trolling in ramzavil's thread, I mean, that was about as ticky-tack as I have seen in this forum. I have made hunfdreds of tongue-in-cheek comments like that that, outside of limited humor, presented nothing to the discussion at hand whatsoever.
I understand that there is a history here. As being someone who has been subjected to skippy's attacks in the past, I am particularly sensitive to this guy's actions. But I also believe thast once you have "paid you debt to society", that you should get some leeway back (not as much as before, but some). Forgive me for saying so, SkyDog, but I fear you have erred on the side of too little leeway.
Even given his past justifications, I don't think these violations equal the punishment he is receiving.

I compare this to the three-strikes-and-you're-out law, except in this case it was more like 20 strikes. Nonetheless, based on his past behavior he returned from his multiple bannings with a zero-tolerance policy. It might have been a small transgression on his part, but it was over the line nonetheless. He did the crime, gotta do the time.
And it wasn't like he was baited in any of these circumstances. He purposely posted to try and rile somebody. I might side with leniency if somebody provoked him, but he went out of his way to try and start trouble.

Sorry Chief, but I think you are completely wrong on this one.
Now I have always enjoyed slamming the Kipper...well, because he has earned everything that comes his way. The guy seems pretty clueless and it is pretty clear he can't keep himself under control. I was surprised he was allowed to return the last time. If allowed back again it is just a matter of time before he merits yet another smack by SD.
Maybe a perma ban would be in everyone's best interest...for the good of our community and to allow Kippy to perhaps find a more healthy outlet for his outrageous behavior.
