I was just thinking about the draft and thought I'd make a new general thread for ideas and questions so the other threads/polls don't get hijacked.

I was thinking about the draft pool. We could just have FOF2004 generate the draft pool, but I was wondering whether it was possible/desirable to have TCY generate the draft pool. It would be interesting to have the comissioner or someone sim a TCY week whenever the eNFL games for the same week are simmed (with the "human" being a solecismic eight team or something and everything set to be handled the computer - the idea not being to have an active "game," but to just simulate a season to generate a draft pool). Then if the file can somehow be downloaded to everybody so we all can load it up in TCY and watch college players develop in real time, allowing us to become really familiar with the fictional players who will end up in the eNFL (and after a while dominate the league).

I think this is an interesting idea, but I'm sure there are probably many downsides to it -- most obvious that everyone probably doesn't have TCY and there may be security issues. Nevertheless, I thought I put it out there because there are some interesting possibilities.

We discussed this. While that does sound great, the major downfall is the fact that not everybody owns TCY. That would create an advantage for the players that have it.

I think we can still have a good time with the randomly created drafts. We will take our time in the offseasons and really get to know the players before the draft.

Just to let everybody know we are currently working on a website and forum. We hope to have the forum up by tomorrow. Yes, we are serious about the eNFL!

Is there a way to build web reports of the player statistics? If so, owning TCY wouldn't be strictly necessary.

It's pretty tough. You could generate a mass text dump and upload those text files online pretty easily, but true HTML would be another story.

Don't have my computer with TCY with me right now, but they'd look pretty mundane. Yea', they should be readable though.

If we could pull this off, it would add an incredible amount of depth to the league...

Worst case, some people just won't "see" the rookies until draft. Shouldn't be a huge issue.

Only problem i would forsee is that these text files would not be sortable for the peeps that dont have TCY. Would be a bit of a handicap for them. Just a thought.
