BROWN COUNTY, Texas -- Authorities in Brown County are trying to gather clues after homeowners find a gruesome discovery in an attic.

While doing electrical work in a crawlspace between the first and second floors of their home, a couple found the bodies of three mummified infants inside a trash bag.

Deputies are researching the home's past owners while a Dallas anthropologist is determining the infants' ages and genders.

Brown County authorities are treating the deaths as homicides.

Chief Deputy Mike McCoy told The Associated Press they "have a good direction in which to go."

Brownwood is located 67 miles southeast of Abilene. The home is 10 miles from the nearest town.

The current owners have lived there about three years.

An autopsy is set for Wednesday.

Title is misleading. It was actually the between floors crawlspace.

Ew, living in a house for three years with dead babies in the walls. I'm sure if possible, they could be looking for a new home now. :)

Ok, I can't resist this one now:

How do you make a dead baby float?

One scoop vanilla, one scoop dead babies, and rootbeer.

I think it's less "creepy" and more "heart wrenchingly sad".

What gets louder as it gets smaller?
A baby in a trash compactor.

What makes the babies "mummified?" Does that mean that they were embalmed?

I once found the body of a hooker in my attic.

The scariest part about it was that it wasn't the one I put there.

What's scarier is what you did with her after you found her.

I hate when I lose my dead hookers in other peoples attics. Was she the blonde one?

Difficult to tell if that was her natural color or not. Do your hookers usually shave?

Wonder how long they struggled over that decision?

This thread doesnt just walk the line between humorous and tasteless, it mummifies that line and stores in in the crawlspace.

"Local high school student Lando Griffin was killed last night when he lost control of his motorcycle on Dead Man's Curve. Police were baffled when they were unable to find a body, but decided it was best for everyone not to ask questions."
