BOOM! The NCAA Football regular season has come to an end and the Stanford Cardinal finish with an impressive (11-1) record. The only set back was their loss to Washington earlier in the season, but after that Stanford rattled off 7 straight to earn a birth in the Pac-12 Championship game, and a #7 ranking in the country.
Coach David Cutcliffe, after 4 mediocre season at Duke, finally gets to a conference championship game. Next season the Cardinal are ranked #14 in Championship Contenders, so with another strong season Cutcliffe might he looking for his first attempt at a National Championship in 2017.
Stanford now heads into the Pac-12 Championship game against the Arizona Wildcats, who they beat earlier this season.
The 2016 National Championship game features one regular, and one surprise team. The regular is the SEC champs Alabama (13-0). The surprise is the Ohio Bobcats (13-0), the MAC champs. Ohio will leave the MAC next season and head to the Big 10 after their success.
