So its been a good year and I'm looking to spend some money and I'm thinking of buying a new HDTV. I have two already, but the largest of the two is 32" and is too small for our living room--more suited for the bedroom. I don't know much other than basics--plasma vs. LCD, 720p vs. 1080i, etc. So I'm looking for any input on the sexiest TV's out there. Looking along the lines of spending 2G's ($2,000). Help?

Also thought of buying a PS3 but that can wait--input on that appreciated too...

I'm not a windows fan, especially after purchasing my first MacBook Pro laptop a little over a year ago which I'm still using and loving to this day. However, after viewing this Ad for Windows 7, I have to say I am VERY interested in the new OS. I don't know what it is, but windows has never looked or sounded more sexy.

So it is that time of year when all the cell phone carriers have their media events showcasing their upcoming killer phones coming out during the summer and fall season. This year it will be even more harder to determine what phone to get.

The droid os is in full swing, people are starting to understand the capabilities of it and apps are coming for it be the thousands per a month. For years Iphone was king. But came last fall the Droid came out and punched it right in the mouth.

Then came February and the Nexus one from T-mobile came out, featuring the latest version of the droid OS, 2.1. Not only did it feature it, but it came out with the fastest cpu ever in a cell phone, a 1ghz cpu. This allowed webpages and programs to load super fast. Live wall paper that moved, 7 home screens.

However the Nexus One reign was very short, because in March T-mobile released another beast, the HTC HD2, sporting a 4.3 inch screen, the biggest screen to date. The only downside to this super phone was the Windows 6.5 operating system on it. Which in itself has it own drawbacks here and there.

Yesterday Apple announced their 4.0 OS will be coming out this summer, which will allow a lot of things, with multi-tasking being the main important one. However they didn't say if they are coming out with a new design for their Iphone, which by now, compared to other phones looks very plain and dated.

This summer Sprint is coming out with the HTC Evo 4g, which is basically the HTC HD2 running android 2.1. However this will be the 1st 4g phone and it will have built in Wimax. Being this is new frontiers here for cell phones, we shall see how this goes.

Verizon suppose to be coming out with their new toys this summer too. That being the Motorola Shadow, which is rumoured to be really the Nexus 2 or Droid 2. Suppose to have either a 4.3 screen or a 4.1 screen.

But anyway, as you can see, the trend for this summer is big screens. Everybody is jumping on the big screen bandwagon along with 1ghz processors. Mainly because cell phone companies have realized how much media people actually watch on their cell phones nowadays. That really stems from the fact people have to travel much further to work now then they did just 5 years ago.

With all this you might say well which cell phone should I get ? That really depends on what you need it for. If you just a light cell phone user, then a smart phone isn't for you. If you like tons of apps and don't mind paying for them or don't mind you can't customize your phone, then the Iphone is for you.

If you crave customization, I recommend getting a Droid phone. There are about a dozen or so Droid phones now on all carriers. However the Nexus One on T-mobile and the Motorola Droid on Verizon currently is the most powerful of the Droid phones.

Another thing to consider is what carrier you currently have a contract with. Not all phones are on all carriers. However more then likely the carrierr you have with a similiar like phone that is only on another carrier. Kind of like how Sprint is coming out with their own version of T-mobile HTC HD2. Or how T-mobile came out with the Nexus One which is similiar to the Motorola Droid from Verizon.

Breaking contracts is costly....So I wouldn't recommend doing that. However you can have 2 contracts from 2 carriers at the same time. Lot of my co workers do. You can have the least amount of minutes on one phone that you barely going to use and have the most amount on your main phone.

What ever you do choose, do your resource on the phone YOURSELF. Don't go by word of mouth. Just go to what ever carrier that phone is comig out for CORPORATE store and ask to see the phone. They always have it there on display somewhere or some worker have it on them already. The reason I said corporate store is because most of the tme Walmart or Best Buy , won't have the phone on display yet if it is a new product, might take them a few weeks or so to get it.

Like currently where I live the only place to see the HTC HD2 in person is at a T-mobile store, neither Walmart or Best Buy sell them yet here.

Happy cell phone hunting !

I am writing this because I am tired of coming to my OS Arena page and seeing the empty box that is dedicated to my blogs marked as "you have not written any blogs yet". Well those days are over my friends, because that's exactly what I'm doing right now. Being that I don't think anyone else comes to my arena page besides me, the fact that I'm writing this might be fodder for psycho analysts to discuss (my bet is that they'd give me some type of prescription to subdue my urge to do this type of thing). I do get the random straggler who visits my OS Arena from time to time, but I see them the same way I view the cars that pull up my private driveway thinking that it's a shortcut to the nearby lake, only to find that the road cuts through the woods and leads directly to my garage door. The difference being of course that my driveway is clearly marked in 3 different spots "Private Property - No Trespassing", where as my Arena page is not actually owned by me. All of the OS public are more than welcome to drop by my Arena at anytime. Not too much to see here, just my little tribute to the greatest franchise in the history of sports (that's right haters, you know it's true!). I do have some cool clips embedded in my videos section such as a few of last year's Pedroia vs. PlayStation MLB 09 ads. You can also check out this year's "Well played Mauer" MLB 10 commercial too (I love all the great Kevin Butler PlayStation ads, but only the MLB ones are included here). Of course there's also a collection of MLB 10 custom covers created by some of the members of the OS community featuring players from the Yankees, including the one that I made myself as a team tribute to the 2009 World Champs (this one is currently being proudly displayed on my copy of this year's game). I love that many people that visit my house and see my MLB 10 World Champs cover and think that I somehow got a special edition copy of the game. I have thought about trying to add some other cool stuff to my Arena that people might want to come check out, but I guess I'm just too lazy and don't really see the point of it (I'll bet there's a prescription for that too). Anyway, if you did happen to lose your way and find yourself reading this, please leave a comment (good or bad, I can take it), otherwise I'll be waving from the front window as you try and navigate a u-turn in my front yard.

Blog complete...do I get a trophy?

When I was much younger I played "football" on my atari. Remember the three on three game seemingly played by square tank looking fellows? Well anyway back in those days (early 80's) I used to play that game quite a bit. However in my mind it was Dan Fouts dropping back and throwing to either Charlie Joiner or Kellen Winslow. I remember quite vividly actually enjoying that game despite its lack of appearance, and total lack of realism. I provided all the fun and immersion with my imagination.

Fast forward ten years or so and the wonderful Sega Genesis. I remember playing the first LAKERS VS. CELTICS game. While certainly primitive, and repetitive, all I cared about was the fact that the cpu would actually double team you on certain spots on the floor. Again my imagination provided the gaps in realism.

To the here and now. We have games like Mlb the show series that provides so much realism and graphics, our imagination is nearly moot. Custom music, realistic players, and game play that mimics so very closely the real thing we are left with no such gaps to fill in with our minds. Now do not get me wrong I love the realism, the ability to reasonably sim actually seasons. I just don't want previous generations of games to be scoffed at. After all, in a few years today's games will be mocked for their weak graphics and poor game play.

NCAA created a blog about their newly revamped running engine called LocoMotion, which allowed players to lean and accelerate accurately as d****ted in real college football, the blog also displayed the game's new graphics, which were very impressive and raised speculation over if that was how the game really looked, to sum it up the blog put many smiles on NCAA fans.
Days later Madden announced they would be releasing a similar blog revealing that they too will be using the LocoMotion technology, the blog was more writing than video, even though they're blog had more videos to watch, they only ran on for short while. What Madden did do was break it down as how this new tech was going to work in Madden, they provided charts and graphs and really explained what LocoMotion would do for Madden.
My take: I wasn't in awe or flattered when I read the Madden blog compared to NCAA's, but I was informed, which what I want when I read a blog, now I'M that maybe a new tackle system is in the works.

What is up people just been busy as ya'll know with college homework and study for test finishing up this semester strong. I have been working pretty hard and just been getting ready to get a summer job. Also just been tweeting alot on my page about different things like stuff going on in my life. I am having a blast in college right now with friend's inviting me to there birthday parties and stuff like that. I would be attending these events but its right in the middle of my final exam which starts today and ends on saturday at 5pm. Which is in cruise line class so I can be certificate for working for a cruisine industry. Another thing that has been going on in my life is that this chick emily likes me in my class. Which is kind of good, I like her very much too I can't wait to spend time with her and hang out with her over spring break. That is going to be the best time ever, well people I have to run but hit me up on my twitter page or facebook. facebook.com/knighthawksfan and twitter.com/knighthawksfan.

There are many who would argue that Madden 10 was not that much of a leap over Madden 09. To those people, I say: Shove it. Your animosity toward EA, Tiburon, or whoever else clearly has clouded your judgement. Madden 10 may not be everything we've ever wanted in a football game, but to say it wasn't a significant improvement is purposefully discounting facts.

But the question remains; will the leap from '09 to '10 be matched again this year. Unfortunately, I am forced to say probably not.

Disclaimer: No, I haven't played Madden 11. I may or may not know a fact or two more about M11 than the average OS user, but I haven't touched the game. I'm not THAT much of an insider

The fact is that locomotion may be one of the biggest changes in Madden history. We tend to think of it as simply momentum based motion, but as we're often told by the devs- you change one thing, you break 10 others. Last year's community day had better locomotion than the final product, but it broke so many other aspects of play it was scrapped before release.

An example... a free safety in deep middle coverage must close on the ball in the air. With momentum based locmotion in effect, but no AI to support it (ie. still using the same AI as before) he will over run the spot he needs to be at by quite a ways, leaving him beaten deep by a post route. Not pretty, very exploitable.

What this means is that in order to impliment locomotion, a significant overhaul of individual player logic had to be done. A bigger task, I expect, than implimenting the movement system alone.

I don't expect major upgrades on the level of Pro-Tak outside of locomotion. However, if done correctly, Locomotion could be that feature that takes Madden 11 to where we've been begging it to be.

Still, the leap will not be as great.
